I don't know if you should really put up posts like this, I mean, what you know of Freddie isn't a lot, thought it may seem so...You know he was in Queen yes, and some of his personal life thanks to the books by Freestone and Hutton, but still, you don't know him enough to bash his parents...

They loved him and wanted nothing but the best for him and his sister Kashmira. I met his sister and mother at several occasions, and they really, really love him deeply. And yes, they were proud of him too, and if they weren't then, they sure as hell are now. Remember that he did come from a different culture, upbringing and time. It is pretty obvious that you never looked them in the eyes, and just stick to what others wrote in their books (being full of frustrations sometimes). Freddie was always very protective about his private life, and if you read the books really good, you will find that there was no need for Freddie to be framed on a picture in his parents house. He was in their hearts all the time. If you read the interviews with Sir Elton John too, you'll see that Freddie was loved and respected. And his parents never did put him away, and neither was he abused by teachers, he was merely confronted with boys on this boysschool first, and that never happened against his own will. One is like one is. So was he like he was. And it really never mattered to his family. Maybe they would have loved to see him become a father, but he was never treated bad by his family because he never had any children. He godfathered one of Mary's children, and he was ALWAYS at John's home, taking care of, and watching over his kids, and he was very fond of them indeed! You writing a piece like you did, on a site wich is meant to be for REAL fans, makes you most definately NOT a fan at all. One should leave you behind, like one leaves excreta behind !!!

she has a legitimate question and thought, it's not the end of the world folks. everyone attacks someone for: bringing up an opionion that differs from the majority 2. or repeating something already talked about..which at this point everything has been discussed on here.
You are the same folks that take stabs at others for not accepting gays, etc..etc...yet you have the narrow mind and cannot accept it when someone has an opinion that's not "correct" in your view.
freddie was talented, but not the hero everyone would like for him to have been. he had a great voice, wrote great songs, great band and lost his life over some mans/men butthole, pretty crazy when that is what it comes down to..what a waste. Well if they were so awful to Freddie it didn't do anything, he turned out to be an amazing man with an amazing talent and incredible life.

Yes, according to Jimmy may, he was a kind man who was good around children, never cursing etc, always believed in proper behavior in front of children. If thats not a sign of being raised right then, well, what is??
Freddie visited his parents every week, at least in his final years, and he always let them know where he went, etc. If he didn't get along with them he sure would have cut off communication. In an interview he did say that his parents didn't like his lifestyle and that he actually thought that was OK because there has to be differences between generations.

When Freddie's father was read sections of the "Mercury and Me" book, he apparently became "physically ill". What is so offensive about that book that it would make a father physically ill? There is nothing that bad in that book, other than the fact that it reveals that Freddie had gay lovers.

I mean, Freddie was left alone at a boarding school where he was being sexually abused by male teachers for years. In some cases, it was noted that his parents did not visit him for up to a year. After all that, his father should just be thankful that his son did not become a rapist or something.
