Look, I might be able to understand what your saying, but that doesn't mean it's true with all women. I think you might just be feeling down because your approach isn't working.
I know how that feels because my "nice girl" approach doesn't work for me either.
I personally can admit to being attracted to "bad guys, even though it's what I like, that doesn't mean it's what I need. I was involved with a "bad guy"...actually a couple of times, and I got hurt really bad both physically and emotionally. So I need to find a "nice guy." I also don't see any reason why I wouldn't be attracted to a "nice guy" either. A man can be assertive without being abusive.
I have to say though, just because someone might be attracted to a dominant personality, that doesn't mean the dominant person has to be abusive. Being a leader does not mean causing pain or anythihng like that. It just means that they are assertive and in reality I think maybe that's what some women are attracted to. Also some women put up with the abuse because they have low self-esteme issues etc.
