A lot of people in the world are addicted to it and have huge problems handeling their fat-food addiction.

These statements are clearly based on biased research. To say the LSD is safe is to completely ignore the research conducted by the medical community indicating otherwise.
The only physical side effects are those brought on by the drug's sympathomimetic activities. In other words, it can cause arrhythmias, hypertension, and palpitations, among other things.
But most importantly, it can cause chronic mental illness in certain people. It can trigger the onset of several different psychotic disorders in people with underlying personality disorders. Some of these, such as schizophrenia, can be life threatening.

Either way, I'm all for the legalization of marijuana, as long as they ban public use of it (I can't stand the smell of it, myself). Sort of like they are beginning to do with smoking. First of all, if smoking and alcohol are legal, there is no excuse at all for making marijuana illegal. That is simply common sense. Secondly, most of the tax dollars that go towards criminal punishment (i.e. jail) are spent on detaining drug-users. Yes, for every person in jail as a result of drug-possession, American citizens are paying for their food, water, facilities, television, media, activities - you name it. Instead of LOSING tax revenue on drug-users, we should instead be GAINING tax revenue, just as we do with cigarettes. Un-fucking-believable how economically retarded our citizenry is. Thirdly, it will eliminate a vast portion of the black market. Marijuana will now CONTRIBUTE to GDP. Low-life drug-pushers will not be shafting the government anymore.
