In the two hours after you asking how much one cost?

Blimey, that's the kind of research I was beginning to believe you were incapable of.

How much did you pay?
I'm VERY surprised that a member of QZ has actually managed to get hold of one of these guitars, given that only 50 were ever made, and they were due to cost upwards of $12,000...

Please fill us in Jamie.

£12000 is what I read in a review a while back and they are probably the guitar equivalent of owning a new Ferrari. You are kept on an owners database, the guitar has to have regular servicing and the headstock is actually signed in silver marker by Brian and the serial number is in silver marker by Andrew Guyton. They come in a white leather fitted case with all the documents in a seperate compartment. These guitars are as close as you can get.

Im seriously doubting that youve brought one, but if you have, well done. I know Id rather spend that amount of money on something else, or look for a pre owned Guild unless I was seriously rich or won the lottery!
Chom own mudder fukker.
Hmm well I will be amazed if you did by one, I think £6000 is nearer the mark but even so.

Also not too sure why you had to question the quality when Brian uses one on stage, but still post a picture when you get it.

I don't think I'll hold my breath...

So how much was it? Do you know what number you got, and/or how many are still available? Did you get red or green? So exciting, I wish I could get one. Now the KZ's are getting really pricey, too.

You can get some fine instruments for a lot less but some people are dedicated to having a Red Special.
Don't know if I'd put out that kind of scratch for a guitar I was playing live but if you can keep it safe and it's worth it to you then have fun.

Oh I see. You're a spoilt brat whose Dad is buying this.

Seriously, why start the thread - you could have researched whether it's worth the money on the net generally, plus what are the odds that anyone else on here has one and would reply by the time your attention span demands that Daddy delivers....?

I hope you drop it.

aww thats cute

1st off- im paying for 75% of it myself from the money i earn from working my job.
2nd off- just for the record im really not spoiled at all hence my last statement.
3rd- I was looking for some input here and everything I got was positive so I was like alright lets do it then.
And I didnt know that everyone on this board didn't have one- I don't know everyone's situation (and I don't like to pretend that im all knowing like a lot of people on this board).
There are people here who know a lot about guitars.
Personally, I don't know how to find this information out online- at all.
All I know is yahoo, google, and this place so I did what I could on my own. Once I did that for like a year I turned to here to see if I could get any good word about it here. (since, you know, the red special is Brian May's guitar and you know this is QUEENzone.)

so thank you all for you help,
as for u P_G - to say it nicely: shove it, you dont know me.
(this board has a lot of people who think they fucking no everything about people they dont even know.)
and P_G maybe if your not an ignorant ass hole like so many people out there you'll really read what i just wrote and apologize

You must have a REALLY good summer job..;-P
I would not be surprised if you once beat Brian May in a flipper game, JamieSureWould:)

Or is it JoshSherwood? That's what you posted under "website" in your profile: www.myspace.com/jsherwood
I do not want any google ads here.
I don't know what websites you need to be aware of other than Google in order to conduct your online research

Searching for 'guyton red special' and hitting 'I'm Feeling Lucky' takes you to the official page for your guitar, where you can fairly easily find out that only 50 of these guitars would be made, which should give you some clue as to how many people on this board are likely to own one. That page alone would also have spelled out to you the unrivalled quality, precision and authenticity of this replica.

It seems strange to me that your research took a whole year, yet ultimately was decided in a matter of minutes on the say-so of a few QZers who only offered general descriptions of it being a very good guitar.
