I've just left school and I'm in England however its quite intresting to see the contrasts. In my year at least there do seem to be a lot of people who know quite abit of Queen stuff, so much so at times some of us will have sing-alongs and I remmeber at xmas the art class evn had queen's greatest hits CD on as well through class request!
It's really quite intresting as Queen are far from unpopular when in my year.
I do mind you have a idea why this may be the case. Remembering that Freddie died in 1991 that would have made my year about 2-3 years old. I seem to remember Bo rhap being played a lot and I think when your just 2-3 years old the middle section is very memorable, you know flashing faces that fade away into the distance, its very memorable stuff when your very young, almost scary at timkes!
most people I know seem to remember the middle part of that song very clearly.

coz I was at her house last night because we were going to go to a concert with our youth group...The band was awesome their name is revive BTW and her ringtone was ABTD and she asked me why I looked stunned because she had never heard of Queen!

When I was in school I was doing the same thing in my library, trying to find related articles and such. Once I started wearing my Queen shirts, THAT was when I was instantly harassed for being a fan of Freddie and the Boys. I was even called gay because of this which shows how close-minded people can be.
I'm 26 and STILL the first thing people say when I tell them I'm a Queen fan is "but Freddie was a fag, right?" It just goes to show that many people will continue to be absolute twats well into middle age!!!!

I got teased on Friday coz I wore my Queen Shrit Underneath My School Shirt...
Then I got Into Trouble For Having My School Shirt Signed by the Revive Guys And They ( the teachers - Deputy Princable) Made Me Take It Off And I was Walking Around With The Queen Shirt On And Then I got Teased Worse....
And After That I Broke My Probation For Doing The Same Thing That Got Me Onto The Yellow Card.... Punched Some Dick-Head In The Nose... And This Time I can brag even betterly because he was a year 10er and I'm only year 7... Maybe he was year 9... still good though, he was massive,

The remark, however, that has been MURDERING me is the fact that ppls' first reaction to my liking of Queen is..."Didnt the lead singer die of AIDS cuz he was gay? If you ever buy used CDs, do you notice the multitude of CDs from artists who were really popular for a short time but now nobody wants their crap anymore?
But the really good artists (like Queen, The Beatles, etc.) you hardly EVER see people getting rid of their stuff.

Yes, that may hold true, but its still extremely easy to find them! You just got to look around a bit. Some people just get rid of their collection(Usually because they have the good old Vinyls around!). Queen is definately not "shit" in my opinion, but alas we just got to respect others opinions, im sure at one time or another we have all said a band we do not enjoy is "shit". So all that really matters is that you all enjoy Queen. Your own opinion is always the most important, so why complain or even give these people the time and thought?
