The funny thing is that the great majority of Italians here in the United States are only 'Italians' because their grandparents came from Italy in the early 1900's but chances are thet most of them have never ever been to Italy.
My girlfriend and I decided to get some food after the game, while thinking we were going to some a few Italians celebrating (taking the fact that "soccer" is not very popular here in the U.S.).
We ended up getting stuck in traffic from Italian fans celebrating, and Queens looked no different than Roma or Milano.

What Zidane did was stupid, but Materazzi is quite an aXXhole and probably deserved it. The judges also breaked the rules and used videojudging to suspend Zidane. ( none of the judges saw the incident, so that means video have been used...and that is not allowed!!)

The two strongest defense teams in the final - no wonder a penalty shoot out decided who was the winner. Before the match I never expected that France had a chance but they played well over the regular time. But France did not find a way to overcome the Italian defensive with only one real striker, so they did not score the goal that would have prevented the ugly incident with Zidane in the extra time. What a pity to see this great player leave in shame in a world cup final.
Italy ended the "Baggio" trauma and won the penalty shoot out, well done. Great compliments to the Italian players who won this tournament in spite of the fooball scandal at home, it must have been a burden.

By the way: Why is it footballplayers so often use their heads when they fight? I wonder if it's because they can't forget the fact that they are not allowed to use their hands? Zizou could just as well have sneeked up close and punched him in the stomach, maybe that would have been a little easier to disguise and get away with.
Anyway: FIFA has to wake up. Do something about these divings and cases of acting. Look at the game afterwards on tape and if someone is acting - suspend him for the next game. Easy.
