Greg- I know there has been a lot (and I mean A LOT!) of friction on this board of late. Things are quickly escalating out of hand in terms of your relationship with the very fans that are your target audience. Remember, this Queen Anthology is not designed for a casual listener who happens to like his father's copy of The Game. The very people on this board are the ones that are going to buy your finished product.
To cut to the chase, it would be very easy to slag you off and curse and swear and write you off a second rate hack. But, although we might not all support your chemistry of late with the members of this board, I for one have to say that I am willing to give you any benefit of the doubt simply because the Freddie Mercury Box Set was SUPERB. It is my absolute favorite Queen related item, and I commend your work on it. I find myself returning to it on a weekly basis. Not just the music, but the wonderful accompanying book and notes. You did an excellent job. No one on here had ever really heard of a Love Makin' Love or a She Blows Hot & Cold with BHM playing on it before. I just hope people don't forget how thoroughly solid a product the Freddie box set turned out to be. That is why I, and hopefully many others, haven't lost their faith in you. And I hope you haven't lost your faith in us as well.
PS- I remember when I first got ahold of the Queen Live book. It was such a source of joy for me for such a long period of time that I never, ever begrudge you the errors in it. I could see in your writing that you were a deeply impassioned Queen fan, and at the end of the day, that is all that matters. I wish you the best of luck on the Queen Anthology, and I would like to see a general cease fire enacted around here. We want to like you Greg, trust me, we really do.

Dear Mr. Brooks,
As a younger Queen fan and in the US i am at a SINCERE disadvantage, i dont have access to many things. I have not obtained QUEEN LIVE or the Freddie Box set as of yet. But i see them in my future. And I have heard nothing but good things regarding the Freddie Box Set. I wish i could be of help to you and your job. I am looking forward to any future things QP has in store.
And these constant fights worry me. Because as the Queen Archivist and us being fans, we should be working together, not insulting eachother trying to make WWIII. But I havent been following it to know whats what clearly and concisely. Except I have felt semi- insulted by what you've said about QZers. But they arent directed at me and im taking them as venting of frustrations. Because it cannot be easy doing a job and having everyone bitch at you constantly, so usually i let it roll off my back.
Perhaps we can start building friendships amongst eachother instead of enemies.
No attacks at you personally. I would like a few questions answered if i may. But thats up to you. I realize you have much on your plate already. Good Luck...
*cheers*

You seem cool to me Mr. Brooks. I don't know what the deal is with some people...oh! I know! Ignore them, eh!

Agreed. It is my absolute favorite Box Set, Queen or anybody else, and I have quite an assortment!
I just hope GB and QZ can end this bloody feud, because I would love to be reading informative posts, and not just the hurlback insults.

Yay! A peaceful thread!!! *is happy* :)
Yep, Freddie Box is very, very good. And i don't have anything but thankfulness to say to Mr. Brooks. Waiting desperatly for the Box sets, specially because Greg said, months ago, that he believe that Queen will have another nº1 in the charts!
Its kinda nice to see these kinds of posts. It shows that not all on Queenzone feel the way the others do. And that's fine....its an unrestricted forum. But I very much appreciate the work done by Mr. Brooks.
Gee wiz!!!! There is no question that "The Solo Collection" for Freddie Mercury is the BEST box set of any type of box set of all time in particular with the packaging!!! I wish I could get the word to Michael Jackson about how if he does box sets in the future they have GOT to be like the Freddie Mercury box set as well as favorite t.v. and movie serieses as well!!! It is PHENOMENAL!!!! UNPARRELLELED!!! PIONEERING and the STANDARD for the way box sets should be done!!!
Sorry, at what point did this become GregBrooksZone?
If you concentrate you might be able to figure out what's going on!
I'd probably say THE POLICE (Message in a box) has the 2nd best, in so far as completeness, but the FM Box/packaging blows it out of the water. Then again, it should, considering it was the most expensive box set I've purchased.
I also like the Genesis box, Vol.I only, of course, and the 1st Jethro Tull 20 Years box, because they contained so much rare material and not just a new Stereo 8.3 DTS remix whatever.
While I hope the Queen ones are nice, I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to a higher price, especially if this is going to end up being a Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3 kind of thing. Some more info on the upcoming box would sure be nice...

If they'd just make a Queen equivalent of the Beatles anthology, that'd shut me up. Seriously, that thing's great - a neat booklet with anecdotes and informative blurbs about each track. A seriously long documentary with some interviews and live footage.
Ding. Good stuff.
I just wish there was a Queen version of the "Kids Are Alright" film. That was genius, just a big long montage of live stuff with funny interviews stashed in it. Genius!

Oooops. Ignore my post.

Isn't irony delicious?
Has John S. Stuart moved into the Queen Archive room and nobody told me?

Greg, for better or worse you are the Official face of the Queen archive, and to write the above under the guise of your authorized title, is both an insult and a slap in the face to us all, and is a blatant misuse of the authority and trust placed in you by the band and fans alike.
Any one else would (correctly) be hammered as a spammer.

Forgive me for repeating myself, but, I am posting this everywhere the Official Queen Archivist can read it, to remind him of the promise he made to me on 11th July 2006 .
Now there is no excuse to say that he did not see it, or that he overlooked my mail.
Therefore, if you a man of your word, and can you please reply to the request below?

Queen Archivist: "If John S. Stuart would like to make the extent of his knowledge known to us all, including the things he 'thinks' exist, and he puts it on the table, I will confirm or not that they exist or not. NO confusion, no guessing, no misleading misinformation. John, what do you REALLY know. What do you REALLY have to offer as fact?"
As I have been so free with my version of events re: Queen II recording sessions, and I have placed all my knowledge "...on the table", I hope you can oblige and let me know EXACTLY where I have gone wrong.
I really look forward to reading your informative reply,
John S. Stuart[/QUOTE]
