Brian's scar?

Some of you don't believe me or think I'm being sarcastic. I'm not.

I stumbled across this fact in 2002 when I downloaded a video that was called "2 hot lesbians pleasure a candlestick" but turned out to actually be a video interview of John Deacon, circa 1986. Undaunted but slightly disappointed, I watched it, and it was very revealing. Dressed in a long-sleeved turtleneck sweater, John explained the meaning behind 'One Year Of Love':

"Well, yeah, it was written for Highlander, but there's always a double meaning, in all of our songs, actually. Let's just say that it was also written about somebody's [long pause] troubles with a certain something. That's all I'll say about that."

I deleted the video because my mom wanted to use the computer, but I was intrigued. I contacted a source close to the band, who, in exchange for enough heroin to keep Keith Richards happy, told me this: "Brian started taking heroin in 1981, and most of the songs that mention 'love' at that time are actually about heroin. It was their codeword. 'A message of love', 'Love is all you need', 'One year of love'... Brian stopped taking heroin in 1988, after writing 'Too Much Love Will Kill You'. John wrote 'My Life Has Been Saved' because he, too, had been dabbling with the stuff, and after an overdose, decided to kick the habit. He resented Brian ever since for introducing him to the stuff."

The source, who wished to remain anonymous, also sent me an early version of 'Too Much Love Will Kill You' with alternate lyrics as such:

"Too much love will kill you
If you can't make up your mind
Torn between the user and the stuff you leave behind"

It was chilling stuff, so I deleted it, also because my sister needed to use the computer. But it got me thinking about all of Queen's songs between 1982 and 1988... all those references to love...

Serously? omfg, Queen was the last band I expected to take drugs.
But what about Roger & Freddie?
Anyone know if they took drugs too?
