A new album is extremely exciting....as is any new material from Brian and Roger but when they work together...it's magic....plus they have a great singer to work with in Paul and can take their music to a new direction...which I think is great...just love to see Brian and Roger excited about making music again.....as for using the name, I think it's simple....Brian and Roger have been part of Queen for 23 years...so who's kidding who....if they pretend they are someone else...no one will know them...if they say it's Queen people will say...hey there's Roger and Brian from Queen....everyone knows Freddie's not there....so it's not like they kicked him out of the band or anything....Queen + Paul Rodgers sounds great to me......and if they were to tour after an album what do they call it then...."The Nobodies" - you know if they do....nobody will go....if they call it Queen + Paul Rodgers....it will sell out and everyone but BPP will have a great time....

By the way they should record TONS of extra songs as well to released in the future too!! I can't believe how Elton John recorded only one or two extra tracks for his new studio l.p. called "Captain Fantastic And The Kid".[/QUOTE]
Actually, it was called Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy.

All i can say is this:
Life goes on people.
Just because Freddie died does not mean the other Bandmembers have to.
I welcome this. I find it wonderful.
I look forward to anything forthcoming from them!

Now now Jess, that's rather harsh don't you think? Personally, I really don't like the whole Queen + Paul Rodgers thing. I didn't like the idea of it when it was announced (especially after all the "Paul was Freddie's favourite singer" bollocks), but I went to Hyde Park anyway, and I really wasn't too keen on the finished product - it just sounded like an expensive tribute band to me. Therefore, it's unlikely that I will go out and buy a Q+PR album, but that is my personal choice, and I fail to see how that would make me a 'retard'.
Grow up Jess, please?

I just think that name calling on account of not sharing the same opinion is pretty childish, even for a 15/16 year old!

I will buy the album, of course:-) I don't have any problem if they're going to use the Queen+Paul Rodgers banner. The majority of the songs they played were Queen songs so it isn't that weird that Bri+Rog still call themselves Queen. And it's their call to choose whatever name they like...
So, that said, what would be a nice title for the new album?

Boy Thomas Raker-point well taken. I am not as against them using the Queen name as some, but I understand it. What I liked about your take on it was that you made a lucid, valid and intelligent point, you didn't attack me or call my mother some horrible name because I may have a different point of view-THANK YOU!
No problem Bob, any time we can improve the civility on this board it's a good thing. Everyone has different opinions and that's great, it just gets tired with the people using cap locks and calling people retards if they don't agree with others.

Actually, it is called The Captain and the Kid. While Captain Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy was an Elton John album from the 70's, AlexRocks was actually reffering to Elton John's upcoming sequel to the album out next month. He was half right with the title though.
