AC/DC switched labels over from Atlantic to Epic and had their catalogs (which switched distributors from Atlantic to Epic) re-certified with no problems whatsoever. KISS are too fucking lazy to pay the RIAA to re-certify their albums. KISS are known to blow things out of proportion.
Let's see, Queen had their classic albums re-certified with label changes on classic albums from Elektra and/or Capitol to Hollywood in 2002.
Pink Floyd, same thing. Harvest was a Capitol subsidiary and then the band paid the RIAA to re-certify Capitol catalog from 1990 to now. Also, the Columbia albums that switched over to Capitol (WYWH, Animals, The Wall, ACoGDS and TFC) are going to be re-certified to tie with PF's 40th anniversary.
If Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC can do it why can't KISS.
Even if a band has no US deal (like Supertramp), a label will re-certify that band's catalog.

Just because KISS doesn't have a label at the moment doesn't mean they cannot pay the RIAA to re-certify their back catalog. I mean AC/DC did it no problem with the label change from Atlantic to Epic. Many of their Atlantic/Atco albums were re-certified on Epic in last few years (High Voltage, Highway to Hell, Back in Black and The Razor's Edge as examples). The Rolling Stones did it too when some of the Rolling Stones Records albums were re-certified as on Virgin. Pink Floyd with their Harvest albums being re-certified as Capitol (Ummagumma, Meddle and Dark Side). Also Queen had their Elektra and Capitol catalog re-certified as Hollywood Records releases in 2002 (ANATO, ADATR, NOTW, LK, The Game, FG, AKoM).
On a side note, I was fired from a Pink Floyd forum I used to post at called A Fleeting Glimpse cos I said one of the moderators had a vendetta against me and he denied it. Some posters were saying worse than I ever did and got away but it came to me and he was like that is unacceptable so I told him to fuck off. I then said to him, OK for you to have Bush bashing, American bashing, me getting my ass kicked in for stating my opinion and so forth but when I expose the truth you have to rip my head off and awrn me, that is worse than bullshit it is dumb. If you have a problem we can discuss this man to man but he didn't have the guts to email me to confront me. Then the next day, I got an email stating my account was cancelled so I emailed him and said a few things and see you in Hell. Then I got another email after that saying I am forever banned from forum and my email and IP was blocked to site. In retrospect, I am glad I am out of there.
