If it was New Haven then it's definitely 'News' rehearsals (that's where Freddie bought the piano btw).

And it does make sense considering they were expanding the acoustic set (with 'Love Of My Life') and adding a track sung by Roger ('I'm In Love With My Car').
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
Lester,

In fact you did mention "long Away" being rehearsed before the UK tour, so my sense is that they tried before each tour that year. My memory of the tape that I heard, was that freddie was singing, but they weren't happy and more of the tape consisted of arguing than actually playing the song through....but it was a long time ago. It was recorded by a guy I knew who lived near New Haven and camped out for all the days that they rehearsed there. He was a huge Queen fan, and i remember he also had Super 8 film of Queen at Beacon theatre for the Night at the Opera tour. I unfortunately lost touch with him in the early 80"s.

You owe me $10, good sir! They sent me two advance copies a week or two ago, with the remaining author copies to come within the next week or two.

Oh damn good this book is !!!!! really not a boring one, I particularly like the part Three section that takls about the songs, released or not, solo, pre-queen played at gigs, .... really useful !!
I was searching for an info in it, maybe someone or maybe the author itself could help me. I was searching about a song from the french artist "JOSE LUCAS" called "Electric Rumba (or Tour du Monde)". Brian May was said to have play on it, but I can't see this song in the book, I don't know of it was considered during the writing of this book and ignored intentionnally or if it was just not known by the author. That's important as I have this record here and I don't have a turntable, Brian May is thanked on the sleeve, but I don't know if he played in it or did something else. Maybe someone could help...

thanks a lot !!!!
Olivier.
wanna trade ?
I think that was another Brian May who played on Electric Rumba.

Afraid not, I don't have the capabilities or the time to sell it myself. Maybe someday, but certainly not in the foreseeable future.

And anyone who's picked up the book from the US, if you'd feel compelled to write a review for the US Amazon site, good or bad, it would be much appreciated ;)
Ordered. :)
