Queen: Complete Works (Book)

The German amazon website has announced the book for April 2007. I do not know if they get English books later that amazon.co.uk or at the same time.

The other thing is that you'd expect the writer to be in the loop.

i emailed the publishers today who confirmed that the book has now been printed and should be available shortly which is good news

am looking forward to reading this

amazon sent me a despatch notice today as well.

IT's ARRIVED!

At 424 pages, and well over an inch thick, it's certainly one behemoth of a book. Lester, I really don't know how many hours you invested in writing this tome, but I'm certainly going to invest a few myself in reading it.

Also, it's great to see so many familar names in the Acknowledgements section. I'm particularly pleased to see that 'Ivor Biggun' managed to sneak in there... ;-)

mine turned up as well today.
It's basically a complete discography (including demos)of both Queen AND solo work, but each song has a write up ranging anywhere from a small paragraph to nearly a whole page. There are interview snippets throughout as well.

In all, it's probably one of the most informative Queen books around and WELL WORTH the money!

Discography? But I thought he said it had things about working in the studio and all that. Anyone want to review the book cause that's not what I thought it was gonna be.

Discography's the wrong word for it, I think... it's more of a reference. As for sessions... that was part of the description on Amazon and other sites ("session-by-session, album-by-album, etc.") when it should have been "song-by-song" etc. If I'd've had access to the sessions, I would have GLADLY written about them.

But I'm glad that you guys received them -- you've even got them before I have! ;)

Well I don't have it in front of me at the moment Adam, but from what i recall when I flicked through it before going to work, it's got about 6 sections. Section One focuses on Pre-Queen bands and tour dates where applicable. Section two is the making of each album in the studio. Section three is a list of every song in alphabetical order with varying degrees of info about each song interspersed with interview snippets.
The other sections cover a discography, the BBC sessions (lots of info there), videos, Queen tours (though not as indepth as Greg's book obviously), solo tours and the Q&PR tour.
It'll take me ages to read it all.

Finally Adam, it's got your name at the back in the list of "thanks to", so you'll have to buy it for that alone!

Can't wait to get mines!! :-))
