Actually I'd pay to see that.

Do tell if'n you buy that.[/QUOTE]

I'm gunna ring them up tomorrow, see if it's still selling. I can *technically* afford the thing... it's probably not a wise idea to buy it... I'll wait and see if it's a good 'un first.
Ye GADS the ad disappeared... probably sold from underneath me! AH CRAP.
Crappin' heck?!

Never trust anyone in East Fremantle again.

Nah it's good, the ads in the Quokka only run for a week.

I rang her up this morning, and - she forgot to turn her phone off after we'd finished talking about the sitar, and I heard her moan 'oh GOD'.... haha. I guess my phone manner irritates people? I just lied and said I could barely hear her.

Anyway. I might be taking a look at the thing on the weekend.
High five, dude. *surfs up*

Heh, I know I annoy the shit out of people on the phone. It's because I get nervous and forget how English is spoken properly.

That's great though!

Hahha I tried to combat nerves (and a premonition that the sitar was sold already) by sounding relaxed. I think I probably just sounded drunk.

I can't get over the way she sounded when she'd 'hung up'. Fucks sake I'm giving her enough money for the thing. She should be thanking me!

Then again - if I see it and don't like it, she'll be keeping it.
I do the same thing...sometimes I actually have a snort of whiskey before hand. Of course that sometimes gets out of hand and I end up getting abusive

'What?! No fuckin' unclaimed mail! I wanna talk to your manager!!!!' *vomit*

Or I write out points to say and end up buggerising them up.

Heh, that's why I make sure the phone is well hung up before I start saying things. I can just imagine your reaction..heh.

I love harrassing telemarketers though... I've got an extensive list of the best ones, I have to find it.
This has been a fun discussion to watch, I tell ya.
That's the only thing that annoys me about having a private number - no telemarketers. I'd love to lock minds with the greatest.

On the other - quiet you, Lester.

You guys are very funny. This would make a great documentary I think - buying a sitar and the characters you run across. Do you think that lady said, "Oh God" on purpose just to be rude? I think she might have known she had not hung up yet. I also get quite nervous on the phone. I looked up sitars here (a couple of days ago). None were listed in the Washington Post. A few were for sale in shops for around $800. Must be a difficult purchase to make. Anyway, sorry for interupting this thread. ha.
No problem, I love a discussion. Hehe

Sitars are... I dunno. I guess you really can't get a 'cheap' one. $450 AU is an extremely low price, so this is either going to be the ugliest sitar ever (replete with DUCT TAPE and rusty strings), or they are naively selling something they don't know the true worth of.

She admitted on the phone she had no idea about sitars. So I'm going into this completely blind!
*turns out it is the same sitar that George Harrison once played*

Take loaaaaaads of pictures if you buy it. I ain't never seen a sitar.. in Australia!

Well except for that one I've already mentioned...that doesn't count.

One of the TAFE bands used one. It was a $600 cheapy off eBay and the guy sounded new at it, but it still had a nice enough sound. At least nice enough to learn on!
Heh, I think I saw a total of 5 TAFE bands - yours, mine (both), that one with the bloke who had his eyebrows tattooed on and that bass player who was fairly good. They did a cover of My Generation - complete with the bass solo. I think his name was Andy?

Mmm, cool though there were some shit bands there. Absolute shit. Chad and I were 'jamming' (I'd say he was the one jamming. I was just nodding my head in time with him) one day and heard this terrible, terrible noise from the next rehearsal room. We just looked at each other and laughed. Then I hit him and didn't stop hitting until I saw blood.
