Behind That Locked Door is very country-esque, in my opinion...

between them (solo) there was enough for ONE classic beatles (double) album - had they worked together on it...

Haha I burned myself a CD of my favourite solo songs ages ago..... differences in production aside, it was a nice idea!!

Ringo did a song recently that I'm very fond of, it was on Youtube..... Meh. Can't remember the name. Beatle-worthy though. Ha-ha.

This is my fav George's album so far. All the songs of this album sounds great in concerts.

For me "Isn't a pity" is a song that it always mades me cry. I don't know why, but it's like every time I hear it it's like it touches my heart like the first time I heard it.

I have the 2 editions on CD, but with me I have the 30th anniversary edition (Couldn't take all my CD's with me :( so...).

A fact: almost all this album was written before the Beatles broke up.

did george play on saltwater? are you sure of that? i have the album with that on and i don't remember george being credited on it

I do indeedly need to purchase more Ringo solo stuff. I like his voice. Always have.

I notice that CD is rather Paul/George heavy...good stuff.

By all means check - could be apocryphal, I'm pretty sure I heard someone say he did SOME slide work on the album.....

I stand by what I said... whether he was on Saltwater or not, he was a pretty fine slide player.

hi i have checked the julian lennon album 'help yourself' 1991.
george harrison isn't listed under the musicians who play on the album, however, he is listed on the 'thanks to' section.

so i suppose that is inconclusive. it does sound like george . maybe he didn't want a credit in case 'beatle reunion with julian' rumours started up again

At the same time as understanding (and agreeing with) the reasons for there never being any such collaboration....

I kinda wish they'd tried it. Not even playing old songs ; new stuff of course. And not as 'The Beatles' obviously. I'm just fascinated with the music that comes out of different combinations of people, is all. Would've been interesting.

I know I might get smashed but I really, really, really enjoy Free as a Bird and Real Love - The Beatles version. That's what I imagine would have happened. It's pure speculation but I would have loved to have seen 'The Beatles' release Live and Let Die. It's so very, very, very Beatles to me it's not funny.

Then there's alllllll the songs they practiced during the Get Back sessions that later became solo songs. Mmmmmm, Another Day, yum, yum!

I understand what you mean though. Sort of what Paul wanted to do (and ultimately did do with Wings)... just do little town hall concerts under the naaaaaaame - it escapes me for now - but whatever it was it would have been great. Too recognisable though? Probably.

Zebonka, I won't smash you: one of my fav Beatles' songs is "Real Love" it's catchy and sweet, and makes me think of what would happen if John was alive at that right moment, and the video made me cry when they released it :P
