Let's see... it's not just a rumour - most kids in the town where I live go to "parties" and drink (and occasionally do drugs). Every year so far, one or more people have died due to something drunk-driving related.
And girls go and get pregnant (accidentally, of course).
My mom never put an age on when I could / should have sex. She just said it was different for everyone and I would know "when".
I don't think that just because someone asked a question - that was, by the way, none of their fucking business - that you should start wondering. You're fifteen - even though with proper birth control (the pill, spermicide, condom, et cetera) - it's never 100% - ladies who have had their "tubes tied" have even got preggers (though that's an exception, really). I'm not saying this to scare you. I'm saying this because right now you are dependent on your parents, and you need to think through all the possibilities.
If you're really considering "going active" - talk to your parents or a doctor if you can about getting birth control pills or something. And use a condom - they're not expensive, and if you can't afford a box of condoms, you can't afford sex (and certainly not medical treatment for an STD or a baby).
I think sex is a healthy and normal thing. But it can be dangerous if you're stupid about it. Have you and your boyfriend been tested for anything ? You both may be "pretty sure", but you never know. I think you can get this done free some places, even. I mean, if you've both never had sex or done drugs (needles !), it's not likely, but it's possible. And it never hurts to be safe (unless you consider an occasional blood test to much "pain" to prevent a HUGE problem).
