By famous Queen fans, I mean not only musicians claiming to be influenced by Queen but also any celebrity who has admitted to be a fan of the band. I was just curious about this. Many of you here might find this pointless but please co-operate. =) So...kindly list some famous Queen fans. :)
I know very few and even those I'm not sure about. I heard that all the Beatles became fans of Queen after their break-up. My friend said that Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney appear on the DVD of "Queen - The Magic Years" and claim that Queen is one of their favourite bands. I don't have the DVD so I can't confirm. But I do know that Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin as well as Michael Jackson are fans. I remember a website once reported that Paul McCartney said "Freddie Mercury was better than Robert Plant and he himself knows it" in response to a BBC survey in which all four members of Led Zeppelin won the best vocalist, drummer, guitarist and bassist polls and dismissed the poll as "rigged and absurd". Hope I'm making sense here. =)

I saw an interview with De Niro and he had hardly heard of Queen, but did say he "thought" his daughter liked them. WWRY was purely a business venture I think. I assume that if the Mercury biopic gets made, it will be a Tribeca production.

Robert de Niro isn't a fan... When he was asked what his favourite song was you could see on the look of his face that he didn't know what to answer, because he didn't know any

If you search "Queen Magic Years" (or something to that effect) on YouTube, it will show up and you can watch it there. It's fairly interesting/entertaining.
cheers

I think you're wrong about De niro...I remember when they asked him that question at the press conference. He probably thought that it was a pretty faggy question to ask! They did ask him previously to that if he was a Queen fan and he said yes.
I can just picture him secretly lipsyncing to Queen when he is by himself lol.
