I love how *everyone* is just misunderstood and downright wrong in this topic. Except, of course, for TQ.

Round and round we go....

But The Travelling Willburys are good :P.

Besides that, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers have some songs that are quite good. And seeing them playing live in several tributes (The las one I saw was "Concert for George") they make good versions of other songs :P

My opinion: Besides the fact I just like 2 songs of The Police, I won't go to their concert. I rather spend that money in clothes xD.

PS: I'm not bashing, is just my "tasteless" opinion

Oh, okay. shh. ;-)
I suppose my point was neither that I am a huge Police fan nor that I think they are great.

I like the Police, and ultimately the thing is, IMO...I think it's great that they are putting aside past petty differences to give a chance to the fans who never got to see them perform as a group, that opportunity. And I, for one, would take it.

I think its kind of sad when a band makes great music together, then dis-bands and the hopes of their fans of getting to see that are kind of crushed.

Like the Beatles...could never put past differences aside and re-unite, even for a performance or two. Now there are only two left and it can never happen.

So I gotta give props to The Police for making this happen for their fans and putting a few bucks in their own pockets in the process. Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers deserve the opportunity to be back in the spotlight.

After all, isn't that kind of what Brian and Roger did?

I can only hope someday Soda Stereo does the same. I would pole dance for the pope for the chance to see that.

*I'd also like to see the Talking Heads tour.
What about the rooftop performance! Ehhhhhhh. I'd've liked've seen them play in Africa like John wanted to play.

Oh well. Police it is. Best of luck!

Also you're an old bastard Zeb. Older than ME..and..well I was the 3rd oldest person in my class...so...yeah. I think it was Bridie and Tristram or however you spelt his name.
...this kettle is boiling over... ...one dump...one turd...two tits...John Deacon... ...one prawn...one shrimp...one clam...one chicken!

Wasn't the offer made to Cerati to bring Soda back but he declined?

Okay - to throw more coals on the fire.......

The Beatles, great band, sold a gazillion records, No1's on every planet in the Universe....if all 4 Beatles were still alive and announced they would play Hyde Park for free for the next 6 months, I wouldn't go.

Same theory as a lot of bands out there - I may like a few songs but not enough to get excited and watch a gig - simple.

Except Jazz - that sucks arse big time.
Cleveland May 24 to June 4th 2007 - I came, I saw, I fucked off home again.
@Dan

When he was in New York over the summer he did an interview with Patrick Ambrose from The Morning News and said,

“The time that has passed since the breakup of Soda Stereo is similar to when you split up with a girlfriend, and after several years, you reach a point where you might find her attractive again.”

That sounds to me like he may be considering, and Soda, being heavily influenced by The Police...It would be awesome if they followed suit.

Here's a link, just in case you're interested. And if not, that's okay too.

Hope that works.
Talking Heads truly suck big time as well, and this comes from someone who like New Wave.
