What hapened there? On the first video Freddie hits a higher note. Did they altered the pitch of some songs on the first release to sound more like studio?

The real question is, was it done for the QP version, or was it in place for the Eagle version before.

I have said for years that the vocal from NIH was dubbed. The vocal on the whole song looks and sounds dubbed to me on the old release.
bobby: I dont think they ever just pitch the vocal to make it fit, that would always sound a bit chipmunk-ish. They did however dub pieces of studio versions over the Wembley VHS release back in '92 for a lot of bits where Freddie couldn't reach. Not here on NIH, to me it sounds just as was stated, using a different audio take.

I think audio from both nights was used : sometimes with the wrong images. Does is make sense ?
It appears that they made the same mistake as in Budapest, and the speed was changed and so was the pitch. According to Brian on his website:

And the sound had been mixed dry, with no audience, so it would work in a ‘live’ situation … so it was really unsuitable for a video, as well as being a bad mix in the first place. To cap it all, it was transferred at the wrong speed on to video, so the whole thing ran at the wrong pitch. We made lots of complaints, and so did many of the people who had bought it, but this did not stop the Swimmer commercial thrust … the video was a thorn in our side for 25 years … out there with our name on – but something we had no control over. They even went to DVD around 2001.

Both CD and DVD are already available in Belgium, I've seen them in two stores. One was shown an a big screen : it looked amazing for a non-HD version...

They probably used the other nights recording of NIH, as the video uses footage from both nights. Perhaps they thought the other nghts recording synched up better.
On my way up, I saw them at Fnac and Bilbo (Leuven). The DVD is pretty cheap (22€ for the QRM/Live Aid package) compared to the Last AC DC one wich is 10€ higher. CD cost 18€.
