Queen fans.....how you became a fan and what led to it?

I was working with Denis Devallance,met Jim Beach who gave me tickets for the Game concert, fell totaly in love with the music, met Brian who has nicely kept a lovely email correspondence and show tickets coming my way ever since! By the way,for all the stick that Mr. Beach gets from fans, I can assure you that at every encounter he has been a gentleman, and wonderfully generous with time and attention to fans!

He must've watched Wembley '86 too many times. Those dinky shorts came alarmingly close to showing his little Deacon on more than one occasion!

The day I became hooked was 20th April 1992. I was in Grade 8 - 14 years old.

Yes - I'll admit that I was a very casual fan upto that point but I'll also admit that I was one of MANY who was turned on to the band from Wayne's World...

So - Easter Monday, 1992 - I go down to our local record shop and pick up what I 'thought' was Greatest Hits -- but it was actually 'Live Killers'. Nevertheless, I am in the car on the way home, and the radio station starts to broadcast the Tribute concert...

That was IT -- I went home and sat transfixed in front of the TV while MuchMusic had a 6-hour broadcast of the concert...with a LOT of commercials...haha!- I have no idea why I sat there, but there was something about the band there that I HAD to learn more about...and get more music from this band.

I discovered Queen´s Greatest Hits album when I was 10 years old...! =P

It all started when a friend and I were listening to the radio while playing some violent video games. We heard Bohemian Rhapsody, and then a couple of days later I heard We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions on the radio. Very soon after I bought Queen's Greatest Hits (Hollywood Records), and thus was the beginning of my Queen obsession!

I went to see Mott The Hoople and came out being a Queen fan.This being around 1974ish.They had released their first album and were in the throes of releasing their 2nd album Queen 2 at the time.If i remember rightly Seven Seas Of Rhye had just came out at the time.
I still like Mott's music though and had the pleasure of seeing Ian Hunter a month ago.

I became a fan because i feel in love with Paul Rodgers voice and songs. Brian and Roger aren't bad eitheir.

When I was in my early teens, one day in PE class I happened to see some girls practicing a dance they created for the dance contest of our school to the tune I'd never heard before. My ears were fixed to that tune, especially the impressive lead vocal and the chorus part "KILLER QUEEEEN" , both of which I found so beautiful. I felt as if I was suddenly obsessed with that tune, because it continued playing repeatedly in my head all day long that day. It took very little time for me to find the band name Queen. Greatest Hits I is the first I bought. The more I listened to their songs, the more I came to love them. So, I decided to buy all of their albums in release order. I wanted to experience the same feeling as the one of people who looked forward to the release of their album. Anyway that's how I got into Queen.

My mom put Bohemian Rhapsody when she bought greatest hits and i loved them instantly.
