sorry for c-lebrety...c-lebrity instead
my version -
Oh yeah yeah yeah
Ain't got no hope, got no idea
What to do or why I'm here
Wanna get my face on your TV
I wanna be heard, I want to be seen
Ain't got nothing
No, nothing!
Nothing to show
Make me a celebrity
I want to be, a face on TV
Then you can see, I'm a c-lebrity
I wanna get my features in magazines
See this creature on every street, on every screen
Write my life story before I'm 21
I gotta tell the world - they may say I'm dumb
But I - ain't got nothin'
No, nothing!
Nothing to show
Make me a celebrity
I want to be, a face on TV
Then you can see, I'm a c-lebrity
Wanna be a star, yeah, in a Broadway musical
They gonna love me, though I can't sing or dance at all
They might say - ha! - I'm lackadaisical!
And I was real good, I'd stand no chance at all
I want to be, a face on TV
I wanna be on your screen!
Then you can see, I'm a c-lebrity
Then you can say!
Then you can say,
Mercy now!
you knew me one day
Then you will know!
Then you will see, I'm a c-lebrity
C, c-lebrity
C, c, c-lebrity
C, c-lebrity
C, c, c-lebrity
I want to be heard

C-rappy song IMO.
Typical Brian rock by numbers. He's been re-writing Hammer to Fall for years.
No way that performace was 100% live either. Did you hear the harmonizing on Brian's guitar?
I hope Roger brought some good songs to the table, he's capable of some pretty poignant stuff, even in his later solo CDs.

I thought it wasn't 100% live too, but not because of the guitar. The chorus vocals sounded like 3-4 Roger Taylors singing.

Absolutely Roger-ish lyrics.
I might be wrong, but I swear I hear Brian May singing in the chorus and seeing him not singing simultaneously.
Yes- I did hear Brian in the chorus too... IMO it was half playback- guitar was almost definitely live and so was Paul...
Surely not. I mean, this is the same Brian may who criticised some bands for using tapes during live shows, isn't it?
You're telling me that the guitar part at 2:26 is done through a harmonizer?
I'd like to see another example of Brian ever sounding like this live in concert (being able to pull off one perfectly harmonized note during a solo).
Maybe I'm wrong (I've been wrong before), but it sure sounds phoney to me.

Standard practice for some of the music to be mimed on a TV show, that's how it's been done since the 60's.
Smothers Brothers, for instance, I can think of one or two of their shows where bands would mime the backing but the singer would be live.
Tis just how it goes, at least it wasn't total miming like old Las Palabras De Amour or however you spell it.

did you also hear the other roger taylor voices when he was singing, also brians voice. obviously backing tracks, I'm pretty sure it wasn't mimed

am pretty sure it wasnt mimed, possibly sing-back as that is quite common on tv. still it actually sounded like it was mostly live with some pre-recorded backing vocals. the harmonizing effect on brians guitar could easily be produced with an effect pedal especially by a world class guitarist like brian. another possibilty is that it was jamie playing along.
