Yesterday Radiohead played here in the city. I'm a big fan, really, and I got to see them twice while I was overseas and never thought of losing any of their concerts if there were the slighest chance to go, but I just didn't feel like going to the gig. I'm terrified. Friends had a seat reserved and I pass it on to another friend of mine.
It was sunday night, raining, kinda cold, and I was feeling so damn great in the blankets and really having a rest, without worrying about anything other than resting. I was really, actually, seriously tired.
Tired. It's age, that's what it is: age! Age is taking the best of me. I don't have even a small % of the energy I used to display and enjoy in my prime. Really. I have been always such a gig-goer and party-goer.
Yesterday I sounded just like my mom used to, when she didn't feel like taking me to the park, to a party, to a trip or even to a nice bicycle circuit, and I couldn't help but laughing at myself as I remembered those days:
"Oh, Yara, you have to set yourself limits, it's never enough for you, you're always wanting more, it's sunday, mom is tired...".
I did exactly the same. And I started laughing because the guys looked at me as if they were listening to what their parents used - or still use... - to say.
But I have already gone to some gigs.
I plan to go watch Oasis for the umpteenth time next month, just for the fun of it - they advertise their coming by insulting every single artist who performed here recently, including Radiohead and, specially, U2. They are funny. I must say I always have a good time and some good laughs, the guys are funny, or at least I find them funny in a very strange, disturbing way, because no one else seems to find much fun in their attitude, so to speak.
So even if I don't like the music, I end up having fun - I love going to concerts of bands I either hate or don't have a clue about. The Jonas Brothers are coming too.
I go more often to classic music venues, not only because of personal taste, but for academic and professional reasons as well.
But, well, I do plan to watch OASIS and maybe U2, it seems they will come. Well, I'm not exactly a fan of the band, I've been to one of their concerts before, but, well, it's...important to go.
It's what I do in life after all. Listening to music, writing about music, playing music, singing music and all to the point of not wanting to listen to people talk by the middle of the year. :))))
Nah, I'm just being silly. OASIS and U2, even though I don't like the songs, will be fun to watch, I think.
Someone told me there were more bands planning to play here but that's something I have to confirm.
As for classic, jazz, country and even some pop artists, well, that's my field, I love going to these gigs - Not long ago we had Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Madeleine Peyroux, some fine jazz artists; the Maria Schneider Band, which I simply adore and love, and there's a rumor she's bring back the troops to invade the country with awesome music again, but that's only far ahead in the schedule, about october and november.
So...I keep you updated? :)

I wanna see U2, but I'm saving energy to see Muse... can't wait for them to release their album at the end of this year :D

None. I'm going to go join the Scott Simpson fan club. It's set up for the two books he published, which he wasn't able to sell a hundred copies of. He needs more fans, and the money.

Believe it or not I'm going to a gig in May.
The Killers
Probably that's the only concert I'll get to this year, since I live in the middle of NO WHERE with no car and in rural American public transit doesn't exist. As it is, I have to rent a car to get to Kansas City to see The Killers.
Super psyched about it though...their new album is SWEET! :-D

FUCK!!
Now Muse is opening for U2 in the States.
Needless to say all the tickets for GA are gone, and I'm not paying 100 bucks to see them in the nose bleeds.

Sometimes people will lie to me, but I can tell when, and they will go to Hell for it. Oh, and your boyfriend should keep his photobucket private, don't want any scandals!

God damn it Jake, why the hell do you have to be so creepy all of the time. That really does rank at about a 9.5/10 on the creep scale.

Oh, and Nine Inch Nails with Jane's Addiction in June.
