Good question Zeb....unfortunately a shit-ton of stupid responses.
It's a shame there aren't more intelligent people on this forum; I'd actually enjoy a convo on this subject with someone with half a brain cell.
This is exactly why I don't bother coming here much anymore.
Half a brain-cell? It'd be Treasure Moment you're wanting then.
You're giving Treasure Moment half a brain cell?
That's awful generous of you

I am so ashamed about this horrible thread. I cannot believe that people who have no care in the world think it's fun to post this crap here while the people in Iran fight for their freedom and we do not know how many have already been shot by their own police.

Do not tell me that you, too, believe that Moussavi is a 'great liberator'. He was Prime Minister from '81-'89, and as you might know, Iran wasn't exactly the home of the free back then either. He is using the blood and lives of the Iranian people to get back in office, and I will not believe he will change anything until I see it.

@ Thomas Quinn - no, I do not believe that Moussawi is a "great liberator" but that was not my point. I do not think that this is was discussed in this thread. I think you know exactly what I meant. I am personally deeply ashamed about the posts in this threads which have nothing to do with the situation in Iran. I love being a member of Queenzone and I always felt "at home" here but this is disgraceful. I really like the humour on this board and how people get witty responses to stupid topics but this was not the case here. This thread is just a collection of frivolous rubbish. It feels like in a school class where nobody wants to be the one who "spoils the fun". Sorry if I spoil the "fun" but I could not take it any longer.
As to your question about Moussawi: I am not an expert about the Iranian system but what we have heard in the last months there was a a growing dissatisfaction with Ahmadinejad because of the bad state of the economy, infrastructure, health system and education system (although Iran is such a rich country). I think that most people in Iran did not even question the system, they just wanted to get rid of Ahmadinejad, who is an international embarrassment for the country. As long as Bush was in office people had little chances to criticise Ahmadinejad because the country stood together against the war threat from America but now after President Obama offered a new dialogue people saw the chance to get out of the international isolation.
Now that the elections were so obviously rigged people get angry and it's well possible that they now question the system after the police has been shooting the people in the streets. It takes a lot of courage to protest in the streets when you do not live in a country where your right to demonstrate is protected by the constitution. Many people will die and the outcome is totally unpredictable.

reply:
most of this 'crap' was written BEFORE the country went 'tits up',so unless everyone has developed ESP then there was no way anyone could of forecast the current problems in Iran by writing what they did.
i also agree with TQ that the other dude is just as bad as the 'Ahmydinnerjacket' fellow and is using the result as an excuse to cause mayhem on the streets.
as the old Cornish saying goes "this will all end in tears"
im just gonna carry on sitting under my table with my colander on my head, coz the outcome in Iran could still turn uglier than a Treasure Moment concert in HD

From what I was hearing, it was already that bad when I started my thread. It just took the rest of the world a fucking long time (almost inexcusably long) to catch on.

Which is perhaps why I went off at Mrs Bad Guy for being (or at least seeming like) a dick.
I really don't give a shit what you think about me Zebonka....No matter what anyone thinks or feels isn't going to change the situation over there. The country is now in a crisis, and I'm suppossed to worry and care about these people??? What the hell for??
My own people in my own country are a million fold more important to me than this hen house shit that will never cease to end. We're in a recession right now and so many other things in my own country and community need attention and hold my interest. More than a people that turn against one another, that shoot now and kill and ask questions later.
Meanwhile my Canadian Soldiers are being killed weekly in Afghanistan not for democracy or women's rights, it seems to me its to fulfill the U.S. needs by aiding to dominate the middle east and control its damn oil supplies!!

First off, I can't see how THIS THREAD should make anyone feel any better or any worse about the situation in Iran. We are not going to solve the problem here on Queenzone.
But, I can't let you off the hook, Barbara, or should I say Barbama???
Barbara dished out this:
there was a a growing dissatisfaction with Ahmadinejad because of the bad state of the economy, infrastructure, health system and education system (although Iran is such a rich country). I think that most people in Iran did not even question the system, they just wanted to get rid of Ahmadinejad, who is an international embarrassment for the country.
Really, I thought only George Bush rigged elections. How did this guy stay in power over there? Bad "economy, infrastructure, health system and education system" has been going on for years there. Prior to Ahmadjinejabba's rise to power, they had the same troubles they're having now, except they have become the most powerful country in that region due to their military might and progress in enriching Uranium.
As long as Bush was in office people had little chances to criticise Ahmadinejad because the country stood together against the war threat from America but now after President Obama offered a new dialogue people saw the chance to get out of the international isolation.
I knew George had to figure in there somewhere!!!!
So now President Obama has offered a new dialogue, huh? Exactly what dialogue to you refer, Barbara? Because eveything I've read shows Ahmadinejad just as critical of Obama as he was Bush. If you've seen something different, please let us know your source. You might have breaking news here!!
Now that the elections were so obviously rigged people get angry and it's well possible that they now question the system after the police has been shooting the people in the streets.
You watch far too much Fox News.
It takes a lot of courage to protest in the streets when you do not live in a country where your right to demonstrate is protected by the constitution.
I don't call that courage, I call that stupidity. Can you name some "martyr" in the past that has protested an election in the streets of their country and was killed? Just one. Name one.
Many people will die and the outcome is totally unpredictable.
Ah, such is life.

Your Canadian Soldiers? Please!!! What, do you have one of those ribbon magnets on your car or something that says "Support Our Troops"? Well, good for you!!!
Please tell us about the wealth of oil in Afghanistan. Please tell us how the Russians invaded Afghanistan long before the US set up shop there, just so those Russians could control it's damn oil supplies. How'd that work out for the Russians?
[b]Is it "Blow It Out Your Ass" week on Queenzone, or something?
