I doubt very much that the elections in Iran were valid. None the less the west has a history of supporting States that don´t even go through the motions of democracy for political or economic expediency so the hypocrisy of complaining about Iran is a little obvious. The problem with the middle east, is, has always been, and always shall be, Israel. Stop the genocide in Palestine, stop Israel building towns on the west bank, give the palestinians an independent state and I think you´ll find Iran far more easy to deal with.
We live in hope.

"does anyone else care about Iran"
reply:
it depends at where their nuclear weapons are aimed at..
if they are aimed at my front door then yes i'm worried,If they are aimed at say..Birmingham or Devon then it can only improve the place if they go 'kaboom'.
got nothing here in Cornwall to get them to aim anything at,its not as if there's a very large naval base [Culdrose] or the main satellite communications connection for Europe [Goonhilly] 2 miles up the road from me.
oh wait..

What I consider very odd is that "they" (the Iranian potentates) decided to give Ahmadinejad around 70% of the vote. If they'd have announced that Ahmadinejad won with 52%, nobody would've found that result very suspect. Plus, arresting dozens of opposition leaders doesn't exactly add to your credibility, as the reasonably massive protests show... I just hope the Israeli government won't abuse this political farce for their own *private* interests (not those of their people), as they tend to do very strongly, especially with Netanyahu and Lieberman.

The people who went out and voted should really question themselves.
So, if Proposition #3 was "No more shooting machine guns up in the air", would they really think they have a chance?

Careful Zebster, that´s actually Kate Winslett you´re talking to there and she´s not at her best when she´s not allowed cakes or chocolate.

I think the founding of the state of Israel in 1948 was a mistake. Unfortunatly it's something you can't undo.

Yeah, you can go all the way back to 1898 and the birth of Political Zionism if you like. Nothing we can do about history and we can only learn from it if we listen...

Iran has now banned us from talking about the protest rallies taking place.
All is well, it's a lovely place. People are very happy there.
