Great news!
I only hope that the "Queen will tour again" has nothing to to with Adam Lambert.

@ Hutchence: That's Zagi, right?

I think you will be dissapointed then. Roger just happens to express his admiration for Adam Boulton(I mean Lambert) in the same interview that he said he likes X factor. Then a few days later we have news of queen night on the x factor, I feel something will happen with Lambert for sure.

Saw Brian and Roger at WWRY at Edinburgh playhouse lastnight by the way, quite a buzz! I also went last wednesday to the first night expecting to see them but no show so got tickets for press ight and there they were. I know, I know, I'm a sad fucker!

New Roger track - ... Don't care that much, other than that it might get some new people interested in Queen (though I doubt it would be a music vid/ single kind of thing)

2010 Queen Tour - If it's true, WOOOOOOOT! And they'd better come to America, preferably D.C. or Baltimore. A lot of people on here crap on Bri and Rog for doing new tours or putting out new music, but they're musicians; it's what they do! Just cuz the lead singer dies and Deaky essentially quits doesn't mean they have to quit Queen. I didn't get to see Queen in their heyday since Freddie died when I was 8 months old, so this is a great opportunity to me.

this might also explain why Roger didnt have a Remembrance Poppy on his jacket when being interviewed by the BBC last week, very disrespectful to the war dead IMO
perhaps the twins can sing it on X-factor this week?

By jiminy, this could be embarrasing. In remembrance week too. There's a time and a place for "issues" in music, but Queen are in danger of becoming that charity/aids/"issues" band that everyone hates. And let's face it, Roger doesn't have the writing skills to construct a song about weighty political issues. Hopefully, six and half minutes of this will be a drum solo, and the other 30 seconds, Roger trying to rhyme something with Afghanistan.

Consider "My Country I&II" - good lyrics, very interesting music and arrangement. Nothing for the charts, but definitely worth listening. And to use a quote from Sting about Andy Summers: "Andy's weirdest ideas make his best songs". In a way I think the same about Roger, he did some wonderful stuff on FIS an SF. I love his solo work. So IMO this is great news.
Guten Tag und Guten Abend !!! We had a great time in Cologne. Drinking beer in the sunshine beside the Mighty Rhein brought back many memories for me..... (Brian May, 2004)

Good point. I like My Country. It's quirky. However, I suppsoe I was thinking about Nazis 1994, which has this err.. gem:

And they say that it didn't happen
What the nazis did to the jews
If they think they've a second coming
Then we got different views

Not exactly Bob Dylan is our Rog!

I find the title of the track interesting: "The Unblinking Eye." Keep an eye on the conspiracy theory websites: the "all-seeing eye" has occultic significance and is supposedly a symbol of the Illuminati (note the eye on the American dollar). Should be interesting to see if Roger dips his toe into the New World Order conspiracy stream and crafts a song that isn't "political" in the sense that we're thinking.

In any event, mark my words: someone will bring this up on a conspiracy forum. And if they don't, one of us should, if only to see everyone go nuts over a song by one of the guys.

Thank God that experiment is over. Maybe they'll get some sense about them now and just leave the teaming up with other artists and using the Queen name a rest...Never liked the pairing anyhow or Paul's take/interpretation of Queen's songs.

Roger often likes to "court" controversy in his songs, in the hope that publicity will drive sales.  e.g. Nazis, Surrender.  Obviously, it hasn;'t worked so far....

God i am curious as to what the Brian / Paul fall out was about.

In danger of becoming one of those bands that everyone hates?...Obviously your talking about U2, one of the biggest bands in history.  In roger's dreams he could write such political songs like U2 or dylan.

As I said, Roger is no Bob Dylan. But thanks for agreeing with me, and somehow still trying to pick a fight. You have a real talent...

There is no law set in stone saying that a pop song is bad when it's political or an "issue" song. Roger sang Masters Of War and while he did not sing it so convincingly as Eddie Vedder (for example), at least he cared enough to put it on record. In my very personal opinion Roger's anti-war attitude comes from his brain and logic rather than from the heart and therefore his political songs (Nazis!!) are not so great as they could be. "Old Friends" comes from the heart and is a great song. "Dear Mr. Murdoch" also came from personal emotion and it's a good song, too - too bad he forgot about it and collaborated with the SUN and American Idol. Anyway, I agree with Sir GH, we should wait until we hear the song and judge it after listening.

Great news about a Roger tour with Taylor Hawkins and a Queen tour cannot be really bad:-)
I do not want any google ads here.

Personally I prefer most of Roger's solo work to Brian's I find it much more exciting and pushes the boundaries more.
I aways smile a little at his political, views and views on religion,(many of which I share) but somehow he always makes me chuckle
So big thumbs up for a new track, can't wait to see him Live and also another Queen tour in whatever form is great news.
I am extremley interested in what split Brian and Paul? I hope we hear more about that. When and where is the full interview going to be printed? on Thomas's website I guess at somepoint but I assume it was commissioned for a mag?
Which one?
