Queen + Paul Rodgers was the only good queen-related thing which happened in the last years

.. ha-ha!! talking about the Superbowl??

Someone remember Brian saying something about a very special "one-off" in the states a few months ago in his soapbox??

That one-off was Queen playing in the superbowl..

It was cancelled at the final stages... along with the WWRY thing by that band (can´t remember the name)+Brian..

It´s true!
Queen rocks!

Maybe there's talks of inducting the band into the RR Hall of Fame and performing at the show?

And you're saying this based on what information?

Or are you just being completely sarcastic, which would also be cool...

No form of QUEEN will be playing the Super Bowl...  ever.

I think so too. But it does not bother me, its no big deal. The fact that they were not on the Band Aid single, Live 8, etc bothers me more. And not just becos these were charity events.[/QUOTE]
QPR were playing in Portugal the same day Live 8 was happening, and the former was already planned prior to Live 8 being organized, IIRC. They WERE to have submitted a message by satellite, but it either never happened or was forgotten to be played.

HAHA!  I bet Brian would've been pissed.  Probably had Anita tape the whole broadcast just so he could see their message.  Shut out again!

Queen is already in the RARHOF.
Brian May: "I like KISS a lot. I have a great regard for KISS 'cause it's all-out. They just had their vision, they had their dream, and they damn well went for it."

I also think QPR has had his day. For me Brian and Roger should work with an experienced older guy who has the vocal capabilities of Freddie Mercury. This will do the songs right and not be played in a lower key like IWTBF and TSMGO with Paul Rodgers.  A bit of a showman who makes the crowd wild is also a must have.

I would have suggested Steven Tyler after his little spat with the rest of Aerosmith, but they patched up their differences at the moment and have the $$$ in their eyes again for this summers dates.

Neither Aerosmith or Queen have done anything creatively new or stimulating for a long time (LOTS of 'best of' packages from both bands!) but I do think that Roger, Brian and Steve Tyler could actually do something good; Tyler at his best and of the 'creative substances' is far more musically interesting than PR.

Seems that Paul forgot what it was like performing for crowds of maybe 1500 people instead of 15.000. That being said - bring on a residency at the O2 Arena for a week anytime - I'd love to see him and Brian/Roger work together again. Easily the best thing they've done since their 1998 solo albums. Absolutely loved TCR and it's corresponding tour.

I have no problem if Brian and Roger want to play gigs with Paul. It's understandable. But, I'd rather they didn't do it under the Queen name. Now I know if they didn't they wouldn't get the publicity blah blah blah, but I just feel it has cheapened the Queen name somewhat so I'd rather they used another name.  Just my 2c.

I completely agree. Brian and Roger have every right to the Queen name, but I agree that it cheapens the name when they use it in regards to their association with Paul Rodgers. Plus, considering that Queen + Paul Rodgers wasn't exactly a massive success, it's not as if they would be losing all that much by not using the name.
