I don't think the Queen name can be cheapened, or that their legacy can somehow be eroded away by choices they make later in their career.  No publicity is bad publicity, unless you're diddling kids or something along those lines.

The songs and history will always be what they are.  That can't somehow be subtracted from.

That's great news! Perhaps they can do another studio album, maybe collaborate with the biggest talents of our time like Britney, 5ive etc. I can't wait!

You're probably right, although the 'We Will Rock You' musical came pretty close to damaging their legacy.

The truth is, as someone who adores Queen, I don't want to seem them make any mistakes. During the classic era (with Freddie), I think they made only one major mistake, and that was touring Sun City. Since then, they've done the musical, teamed up with Paul Rodgers, and did a few other silly collaborations (although I didn't mind the Pepsi ad). Does it threaten their legacy? No, of course not. Their legacy is absolute. But it doesn't make me feel very happy. In my ideal world, they would have called it a day following No-One But You.

I´ve heard that BM don´t want to play with PR again.

yeah Dr May not said too much about it has he, normally he's quite vocal, I remember him saying after the tour he would comment on it inhis soap box in the new year but never did, mmm wonder why, I remember an interview from Roger saying PR and Brian had fallen out, wonder how true it is [QUOTE]

I think I read somewhere that Roger and Paul wanted to do more tracks from the album, but that The Doctor was just as happy performing the same tracks as he has done for the past 25 years and that's why stuff like The Stealer, Time To Shine and other tracks were only performed very rarely.

Bring on a Roger Taylor/Paul Rodgers tour. Paul did the drums on some of his albums I'm not mistaken, so they can switch places during the concert ;)

that was one of the things I heard too. but another thing I read was that Paul was unhappy with the fact that brian and roger didn't do lengthy soundchecks.
now; as for not doing new material - they did play half of the tracks on the new album during the tour.
as for soundchecks; I have a feeling that especially Brian is very peccable when it comes to this

paul did play drums on his first solo album. but; he's not a great drummer ;)

I'd take back Paul anyday

Since we cant have Freddie,Paul is the next best thing.

Paul has always said that he would do charity gigs with Queen.
I never forget a face, but in your case i'll be glad to make an exception-Groucho Marx

They played Surf's Up, C-lebrity, SINT and Cosmos Rockin' at every gig. They did We Believe and Voodoo a couple of times, plus one appearance of Time To Shine. Not bad, but I wished they had played stuff like Small, Some Things That Glitter or Through The Night instead of the usual Break Free, Love Of My Life or Crazy Little Thing. Or just other stuff from the back catalogue - like It's Late, Son And Daughter or other tracks which would've suited Paul's voice a lot more than using him to sing 'the hits'.

I would have suggested Steven Tyler after his little spat with the rest of Aerosmith, but they patched up their differences at the moment and have the $$$ in their eyes again for this summers dates.

Neither Aerosmith or Queen have done anything creatively new or stimulating for a long time (LOTS of 'best of' packages from both bands!) but I do think that Roger, Brian and Steve Tyler could actually do something good; Tyler at his best and of the 'creative substances' is far more musically interesting than PR.

Steven Tyler sucks, doesn't have range, and could never sing Queen's catalog.  He got laughed at when he went to London to audition for Led Zeppelin last year.
Brian May: "I like KISS a lot. I have a great regard for KISS 'cause it's all-out. They just had their vision, they had their dream, and they damn well went for it."

Seems how I think that "The Cosmos Rocks" is one of their best studio l.p.s I think that it would be great if they worked together again.    With that said I think it might be good if not now then maybe after Queen + work with someone or someones else first for a studio l.p. and tour.

I hope they play shows together again!

somewhat off topic, but steven tyler does indeed have quite a range! especially in the high register. he never uses falsetto, but really goes for it

not forgetting Warboys which they did in russia. But I see what you mean!!

what a treat it would have been to hear small on the  catwalk.

and I'll never understand how they didn't do "save me" with paul - I hear it in my head from time to time. as well as it's late.
