I think he was just great - I wasn`t a fan of
guns n' roses at the time but in retrospect
he was perfect. He captured the spirit of Queen and Freddie Mercury perfect (especially as a 90s star).
Cheers, Peter Cetera
Without a doubt Axl was/is the hier to Freddie's stage presence, I think you only need to look at the way he moves around the stage to see that.
Also, I rather think Knocking on Heaven's door became Axl's 'eh-oh' so to speak, its clear he got that idea from Freddie I think!

Seal ? Really ? I never heard something so bad as Seal's version of WWTLF.
Really? I thought he did very well as did George Michael.
Axel Rose's singing makes me cringe every time I watch the tribute YUCK
I hate axel with a passon. He has no talent, he sucks majorly.I wish I could spit on him for Freddie!!!!!!!
I hateaxel with apassion. He sucks real bad. He has no talent whatso ever. I would spit on him if i ever see him.For FRedie i would do this.He can not even carry a tune.
The thing about Axl Rose is that he's just got a hideously irritating singing voice. It's so awful, it's not funny anymore, and I'm usually pretty tolerant. It's not that he's a bad singer, he has just chosen to develop his talent into something completely gruesome and unlistenable. Everytime I hear the long wail at the end of "Don't Cry" (I think that's the name of the song..?) gets me shivers in anticipation of my bowels dropping out and strangling me. Thus far I've been lucky enough to have avoided that fate.
Anyway, no I didn't like him at the tribute. To be perfectly honest, I'm pretty convinced he murdered the whole epic happening with his presence. Axl Rose was probably the reason for Elizabeth Taylor getting drunk or high and overdoing her little speech, Liza Minnelli forgetting to bother about singing properly, Robert Plant doing one of his worst ever performances and Brian May f**king up some of the solos (to be fixed later for the DVD) amongst other little mishaps.
Short answer to your Question ,NO,!!
