Guys,
Just a quick comment on this new release... I STRONGLY recommend every Queen fan to give it a listen. BM&RT are very prominent on this album.
IMHO this is how The Cosmos Rocks should have been. Having both BM&RT makes me feel like it's sort of a sequel.
Who said that seconds parts are always worse than the original? :)
The Taylor Storm Tour 2010 is getting promising!

Way Down and Your Shoes are nice rockers, but they are nowhere near as great as tracks like Surf's Up, Through The Night or Cosmos Rockin'. I have to say though that the Brian May-chorus of Way Down send shivers down my spine. It's been too long since we heard that sound!

So are "way down" & "Your shoes" the only two tracks they appear on?

Brian also appears on "Don't have to speak".
Personally I LOVE the album. Your Shoes, Way Down, It's Over, Never Enough, Sunshine, Don't Have To Speak etc. Love them all.

It´s a good album. Not as great as many people think, but I enjoyed it. I think great albums are "The dark side of the moon", "White album", "Queen II" and many others. Red Light Fever is ok, Taylor Hawnkins shows his power and his songwriter skills. By the way, I like "The Cosmos Rocks". I know one day it will have the recognition that deserves.
Sorry for my English.

I dont understand why you see it like a "continuation" of TCR...
Is a taylor h. solo album with a few (3) collaborations from Brian and Roger... and each one in different songs... not togheter.
I didn´t like "your shoes"... first of all because it sounds like dozens of FF songs, and second and more important... wow! the contribuition of Roger to that track is... "and you know!" 3 times... and it´s over... didn´t like it.
Don´t have to speak is great.

Well, yes, Roger´s contribution on "Your Shoes" isn´t something breathtaking, but anyway I feel high everytime I hear his "and you know!" chorus. It´s a rocker tune as many others from the Foos, but I think it´s great.
As for "Don´t Have To Speak" ... fantastic song and fantastic guitar from Bri !

I ordered Red Light Fever the other day. It better be good, or else I'll never, ever buy it again.
It won't kill me either way because I don't currently have any Foos anyway. My hope is that somehow Amazon.world will detect that I'm really buying it for the BM and RT contributions and pass this information along, which will in turn somehow cause Kerry Ellis to suddenly hate singing and take up geology instead. It could happen, because as you know, she is a rock chick. And then who knows what could happen from there.

Nothin' wrong with it sounding like the Foos.. I loves me some Foo! :-)

I think you'll like it - you can definitely hear the Queen/Foos/I'd say even Nirvana influence. Some of the tracks are better than others (obviously), but I can't really point to any complete duds on the album, which is saying something.
I caught them in concert on Sunday night and was really impressed. Taylor Hawkins drummed/sang the entire time and despite being in a relatively small/unsophisticated venue, they managed to recreate most of the songs to the album's quality. I'm considering buying the debut album now because I liked the songs from it that they played.
And I laughed out loud at your remark re: Amazon. I think I've only purchased Queen/Roger Taylor stuff from them so maybe they'll make the connection for me too! :)

There is nothing on that album that sounds anything remotely like Nirvana.

We can agree to disagree on that, I suppose. :)

" ... It was a great fun night. [Tue 11 May 2010] Roger and I had a blast. La Scala pulsed to something amazing .. the great new Taylor Hawkins band - the COAT TAIL RIDERS, and some pals who dropped in to lend a hand. It was all very spontaneous, like the Old Days, really, and .... yes, it was NOT my idea for me to sing two songs in the encore section! I'd rather have hammered out TYMD with Taylor singing. But Taylor is committed to his idea of .... ah, well, I can't tell you yet ... but he has a plan for us! Respects to the amazing young Rufus Taylor too ... he's the only drummer who has EVER made me worry about my ears ... except Chad Smith!!!!!
Thanks for a great reception. Maybe we should do this kind of thing more often ! (maybe not! ha ha.)"
Queen+Taylor Hawkins ?????
