Hi, after reading May issue of the excellent Italian magazine Rock Hard I stumbled upon an article about Queen and their fortieth anniversary with a beautiful, intimate and in-depth interview of Bri & Rog that traces their career with many memories and anecdotes. At one point the interviewer asks Brian "... is there any possibility to publish some unreleased early seventies live material from which there is no official documentation?".  Brian answered the question this way: "...I can definitely say that we will publish in its entirety the Rainbow Theater concert of the '74 and I personally would like also to see the Budapest concert restored. For this particular concert we are also thinking of making a 3D version. Currently we are just doing some tests to see how it could be ... intrigues me very much to publish something in this format."
The little extract of the article (Italian language) can be viewed here:

Wow. Interesting. Rainbow 1974 complete would be a dream come true!

"For this particular concert we are also thinking of making a 3D version."

So they are complete fucking morons after all. Anyone who's seen a 2d digital film re-vamped into 3d knows the result is pathetic. How much more so if the source is a film reel or a video recording...

great news about Rainbow!!

a 2D version of Budapest in HD will do me just fine :) if they manage to make it sound as good as Montreal, I'll be a VERY happy fan

Budapest and Rainbow gigs in HD on Blu Ray with fully remixed (NOT downmixed from original stereo tapes) audio is good with me.  Budpaest at the correct speed will be lovely!

Me too, Budapest on BD  and in DTS HD matser Audio should be great.  They can ditch the gimmicky 3D though!

As long as they remember that the years are ticking on and 'time waits for nobody'

So anytime before I'm 100 would be nice!

For the Rainbow release i hope for a 2 dvd set.
1st Disc: 19.11.1974  London, UK
2nd Disc: 20.11.1974  London, UK (VHS version)
Bonus section: all the songs omitted on the VHS and the ones cutted presented in full version plus 31.03.1974  London, UK  and backstage footage from the 2 nights of November.
Also for Budapest it would be great a 2 dvd set:
1st Disc: The concert film
2nd Disc: all the songs omitted on the VHS and the ones cutted presented in full version plus an extensive documentary about Magic Tour (with footage from soundchecks, Paris, Mannheim, Budapest, Knebworth, Spain).
Maybe I'm a dreamer... but I'm not the only one ;)

Rainbow  ... SWEET!

I would not want to hold up the project for 3D on Budapest.  Just a clean copy would be good enough for me.

They will release Budapest in stereo pictures with the soundtrack extracted from Live Magic.

Well, Rainbow is great, probably they'll release something more than what we had on Box of Tricks and, of course, we all expect it on Blu-ray.

Rainbow is a fine choice btw. One of the early concerts that captures John in a very good mood. Has anyone ever noticed that? At other concerts he seemed more...I don't know...like he didn't enjoy it that much.
