That may be so, but it's still a 1980s recording with typical 1980s technology, the shortcomings of which would be *emphasized* by a fake-3d treatment. I maintain that the 3d-treatment of 2d-source material is a waste of time and effort. Unless you film it stereoscopically, it won't look halfway decent.

They borrowed every 35mm film camera in hungary to film it so we are probably talking 60's and 70's technology here considering these less developed countires couldn't afford the latest tech. The quality of the end product depends on the man behind the camera and the film stock used. Budapest remastered from the original film rushes and complete would look amazing. The parts with the band out and about in hungary should be taken out of the main film and included as extras (and hopefully expanded.)
I'd buy that!

Nice topic, really. I hope this is not one more fried chicken which later turns out to be moldy stuff if you understand what I mean

I think it does indeed turn out that now, because I feel it that way.

I don`t believe in this official news If in the release of gig in Budapest 1986 there is no doubt but in the release of gig at the Rainbow 1974, I don`t believe

They can stuff them if they only plan to release in NTSC :(

Considering the amount of footage on the second DVD, and the uncompressed stereo track as well as the DTS track, encoding the video to NTSC probabably saved valuable disc space and was the only way they could squeeze everything in. It's annoying, but the compression is still much better than the previous pal release!

Given the latest news, it should be alive now again.

*BUMP*
Since it looks like both concerts are going to be released this year (or at least one of them), I consider this topic will be best to discuss them.

Brian's speech at the press launch of the Queen E-Book says:
"It already has a Live section which is already extremely good, but over the coming months we will be adding material from Live At The Rainbow which can be fed into this product… you’ll be able to see it and click on it as an update".
Looks form this that the Rainbow release may not be too far off then........
