I seem to remember a Queen Fan Club mag, I don't havecit to hand just now, at the time of TNOTW tour with the set list in it. It said that Sleeping on The Side Walk was featured at some shows.

Indeed, it stated that it alternated nights with It's Late, which could indeed mean there were quite a few performances in November 77.

That said - both songs were played at the Boston show, so that article isn't exactly empirical evidence..

In at least one concert in 1978 Freddie said that he thought 'It's Late' was a great song but a fucker to sing live.
Somehow I think 'Fairy Fellers' would of been even more difficult to perform live, so why bother. It was never deemed to be a live song, but a pure studio creation. They couldn't of done it without the harpsichord anyway, let alone get away with the vocals - so no it was never performed live as far as we know.[/QUOTE]

So at least we know the Rainbow tapes hadn't been looked at by the time Gary wrote this - and presumably the new blu ray will show them wheeling out a harpsichord too as "they COULDN'T of (sic) done it without..."!!!!

Don't get your hopes up.

I think we'll find it's the snippiest of snippets. Probably instrumental.

I hope I'm proved wrong.
No Freddie, No John.....No Queen

My feeling as well. I don't really believe that song was ever played live.
"He knew exactly what was going on. He knew that was his last performance, he could barely stand." Roger Taylor commenting on Freddie's last video appearance.

Well, things have changed now. It's going to be released on the new "Live At The Rainbow '74" album coming out later this year.

Can't wait to hear it!

My guess is it will be a piece of TFFMS in the Great King Rat guitar solo.

Needless to say, that's the most incredible piece of Queen music I've heard in about 20 years !

I just don´t have words to describe how fucking wonderful this sounds. Roger Taylor is a fucking legend. Singing this with Freddie while playing drums. Then Freddie and John and Brian - i never expect it to be this good. Really unbelievable, this song alone is worth the price for the Box-set.

If only they could find the rest of the video footage.
