The MJ tracks can't surface without the approval of the MJJ estate executors (whom one of which was FIRED before MJ's passing)... [dubious Will and Testament... witnesses claiming MJ in their entourage on the day the document was allegedly signed]

soo.... without that approval... you won't see it.

So, what was the point to say by May / Taylor : We're working on MJ tracks?  Probably the same as : Hey, we're working on Antology (10 years ago).

And yeah. I know "Do U know where U children R". It's good song.

It's possible Brian and Roger were working on the MJ tracks for a much rumoured posthumous MJ duets album that WAS supposedly to appear by the end of this year, but with no official news about such a project and as well the "Immortal" Cirque du Soleil soundtrack CD's coming out this month, it's either not happening OR it's been postponed.
However, MJ's Estate did say that "Immortal" would NOT be the last posthumous album (well, of course not! Everyone knows MJ was a major workaholic when it came to working on songs, whether in demo or complete form!), so never say never.

Since we're all discussing POSTHUMOUS recordings by artists.... and Michael Jackson... i wonder why someone hasn't pulled out audio excerpts from interviews of FM's words and done the typical "phony prank call soundboard" thing like has been done with other celebrities.

Speaking MJ-- i liked the usage of such a thing on "THREATENED" with Rod Serling's "vocal rap"

let's hope there's TONS of source material... so the songs dont come off sounding like Jim Morrison's last stuff...

As for the estate.. i'm surprised they haven't rushed something out for New Years or 2012...

...considering the marketing spiel is that "we'll all be dead"

doomsday,. ;)

Actually, considering Immortal's soundtrack wasn't even announced until 3 months prior (ditto with Amy Winehouse's posthumous compilation album....I hope this is not a new trend in the music industry, because I hate finding about new releases at the last minute!), that's pretty close in my books to "rushing out" products. They did the same thing with last year's "Michael" album, and that was a mistake. They REALLY should have announced and promoted it sooner, I'm not surprised it only got to no. 3 at best.

Wont hold my breath, considering the source of this. But if there are things that could be worked on, this would be the time to do it. Theres the anniversary, new musical coming out, new record company etc. Brian and R oger are in their early 60s, so if they have any loose ends to tie up this is the time. Springsteen and the rolling stones have both finished old incomplete recordings and released them to some acclaim in the last years.

Is said that a lot of things have been found in the archives. There is no reason why more complete versions of what we have heard wont exist as well as things we dont know about. Maybe there were tracks considered for MIH that didnt fit on that album. There are also some good Freddie solo tracks that could be used. Maybe Brian and Roger have old demos or ideas of themselves that they could sing.

But a thing like this would have to be really good. And they should get a producer, like RTB or Mack that were mentioned.

But in the end, I wont hold my breath. Just my two cents.

Of course they will... some people here are just very bitter that their favorite band isn't producing a new album each year.

I listened to Freddie's last interview today, Queen For An Hour and it was interesting what he had to say regarding stuff in the vaults. He said that for The Miracle they had to choose from about 30 songs!! He also didn't say the other 20 songs were of poor quality neither, he said that there's good stuff unreleased from earlier albums and 'to the band's detriment' they haven't got round to finishing it, because each time they enter the studio all they want to do is concentrate on their fresh stuff.

Sounds like there could be some good stuff out there if they look!

there are no plans for future release new album on based demo records Freddie

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/queen-no-new-album/

Queen drummer Roger Taylor has officially debunked recent reports regarding plans for a new album from the band that would feature Freddie Mercury’s vocals taken from demo recordings. In an exclusive conversation with Ultimate Classic Rock, Taylor said that while there are no plans for such an album, they are indeed working to prepare songs that Mercury recorded with Michael Jackson for future release.“I’ve got to tell you, there won’t be an album. There’s just not enough and the last thing I want to do is have a sort of barrel-scraping exercise. But there’s a couple of great tracks that Freddie recorded with Michael Jackson that Brianand I are working on and they are good. So at some point they will surface I think when we feel it’s a good moment. I don’t really want to ride any sort of wave there. So that’s an interesting thing, but that will be probably later some point next year.”Taylor will be in Los Angeles on Monday to judge the final round of auditions for the ‘Queen Extravaganza,’ a North American talent search that he created to build the group of musicians and singers who will help to celebrate the music and legacy of Queen. This new group will serve as the officially-sanctioned band for the 2012 Queen Extravaganza Live tour. Stay tuned for the rest of our conversation with Roger, which will be online soon!

It's a shame and it isn't simultaneously.
The worst thing is that the release of the demos in ANY form (reworked or original untouched) is postponed and without anniversaries (eg. Queen 50th anniversary : Ultra-rare deluxe editions) or RT and BM's decision to release the Queen anthology, there isn't a chance for the demos to surface.
On the other side, the good thing is that the chance that they will ruin the now-rejected new-album simply ceased to exist.

Personally, I guess that they're just tired and they might feel as they aren't at their peek when it comes only to vocal skills as the demos obviously for sure require not only reworking in the terms of backing track and instruments but mainly require completing vocals.
They've had their chance at digging deeper into the vaults when it comes to audio-visual material (audio along with gigs) [GB & JSS and the team did great stuff collecting, cataloguing everything and presenting their ideas to RT & BM] but they FAILED.
To conclude the only chance to hear what Freddie left behind is to wait for an anthology. Am I dreaming ?
Pity....

Cheers !

What was the context in which Brian said what was quoted? What leading questions might have been put to him? How do the quotes on their own equate to Queen being reborn, or Bri and Rog producing a new album of leftovers? They don't.

Come on. This is howtabloids operate. They get a quote or two, if they can be bothered, and if they can't they might make some up and attribute them to an anonymous source or close friend, they strip all context from the situation, and present whatever parts of the quote, in isolation, support in some vague and tangential way the story they have decided to spin.

I don't believe for one minute this is anything to get excited about. We know Bri and Rog have been "going through some old drawers", as they've confirmed the MJ tracks are being looked at, we've had the bonuses on the reissues, the SiS content, the BBC docu etc etc etc. He could easily have been referring to that kind of thing.

I'm happy to be proved wrong. Well, maybe not. I can't see that a MIH2 would be any good at all. [/QUOTE]

Well, looky here (from page 3 of this thread).

For the past few weeks I've been going absolutely crazy, foaming at the mouth (well, not quite)at the quite staggering number of posts there's been from people talking about this new album, taking is as absolute fact that's it's going to happen, when the only source for the story seems to be the quotes from Bri I highlighted above. Oh, and some dubious report from an Italian radio station that seemed to actually be referring to an MJ rather than Queen album.

Did you all collectively lose your powers of critical thought or something? It was truly bizarre how many of the more intelligent posters, despite the thundering absence of any evidence whatsoever for this new album, got in on the act.

I'm simulataneously disappointed (with you all) and pleased (with myself).
