you're talkign about small parts of america.....stop trying to imply the whole country is homophobic....that's like saying they're all morbidly obese, eat nothing but pancakes and drive pickups
you seem to overlook that in 50% of the last 25 years elections you've elected democrats - and even one of the republican presidents didn't actually win...america is much more liberated than you'd have us believe...stop bemoaning what's wrong with your country and celebrate the advances you've made and the pioneering steps you have taken to lead the world

Oh my gosh! Keep your blinders on if you wish. I like to believe that I live in a fairly cosmopolitan area of the country being right in between Philadelphia and New York (two major cities),
The prevalence of homophobia in our country is pervasive. Do you know how many gay teen suicides there are? Not to mention bullying in school. I could go on and on. I know many professional, well-educated people that are extremely homophobic, some for religious reasons and some that are just plain, old homophobic. And electing Democrats has nothing to do with not being anti-gay. I am not bemoaning what's wrong with my country. I am simply stating a fact to bolster my argument that many would dismiss
Adam's music simply because he is gay.

Yeah ... cut it out, would you? There must be a word for how you're acting, but I'm having a hard time settling on one. Coming to a bunch of people, saying 'well YOU guys aren't homophobes, but there are homophobes and it's a real problem!' ... I mean, what the ever-loving-fuck? Just shut up already. This is the most ineffectual way of bringing the topic up; it absolutely undermines you, the seriousness of the topic and your beloved Adam Lambert as well.
I mean I can't be the only one who sees the ludicrousness of this... complaining to us, on a QUEEN forum, that people will dismiss the music of a gay person... as if it's some kind of fuckin' insight or helpful lesson. If you'd been on the forum long enough you'd know that we've heard from that minority of whackos before - they're very few and far between. Do yourself a favour - buy a hard helmet and go where the fighting is thickest, because all you're doing is alienating people by patronising them and telling them something they probably know better than you do anyway.

Those comments are still irrelevant. Regardless, I am curious about something. If you read such horrible comments on Queen's facebook page, and was told the worse was at QZ, why would you come here? Why subject yourself to such emotional/verbal violence?
I know I couldn't do it. If I was warned that QZ was homophobic, or anti-semitic or Islamophobic or racist or misogynistic, I would never come onto this site, even though I love Queen. Now, people can join whatever website they want for any reason, but why on earth would you join a site you were (mis)led into thinking was homophobic?
"P.S. Maybe many of the members in this forum are not from the U.S. and don't quote grasp the depths of hoopobia in this country where many would not consider listening to someone music just because they are a "flamer." "
Oh, give me a break. When has ANY member denied that such a thing occurs? Yes, I'm not from the US, however I am fully aware of the homophobia that is present. Anyway Zeb has addressed this perfectly.

"hoopobia" sounds like a hilarious thing and I think we need more of it in the world :D

This person is just wrong. I was responding to the post. To satisfy your curiosity, I came to QZ to see what horrible things Queen fans were saying about Adam. Kind of like a bad car wreck. Horrified but can't look away.

I asked a question and I don't get an answer. I don't know why I bother.

A question of me? Thought I answered.

Yes, I asked a question in my most recent post, regarding joining QZ.

Sorry, I see that you did answer me. I didn't see that you had as you didn't address me personally.

Complete idiot nailed it. It only matters to gay people... like you. And again, I could care less what you do with your privates.
Ellen was funny, too. But then she had to bring her privates into it. Now she's really not that funny anymore and her audience is afternoon housewives and you, Michael Allred. She changed her agenda from "I'm gonna write some funny shit" to "I'm going to be gay and proud of it".
Which means if Adam Lambert doesn't evolve and continue to put out the kind of music he does, it won't last very long and some other gay artist will parade his lover around and on and on and on.... we just won't be listening to it twenty years later.

Microwave, you are really heating me up. Parading a gay love interest on the red carpet is NOT about what you do with your "privates.". Love is not only about what you do with your privates. P.S. Not gay and I love Ellen. I don't see her talking about her "privates" on her talk show or otherwise.
And to sound like a broken record, Adam has millions of fans who LOVE his music..

someonewholikesadam... Perhaps you're too young to remember Ellen bringing the lesbian theme to her sitcom. It killed the show. Now she's not funny anymore and has a talk show. While she may not reference her actual "privates" on the show, that is the theme to the whole thing. Take a look at the guest list.
You're missing my point. I never said love was about that. I said claiming to be the first outed gay to have a #1 single only matters to gay people. True fans of Adam should be upset that his personal life has anything to do with the quality of his music. Probably why Freddie didn't "parade" it around either.
But what is most concerning is the fact that you're "not" gay and you love Ellen. So, at least, you're thinking about it. Which is fine.
