Sod it, I'll say it twice for effect. We are on a Queen forum, and there is someone insisting that HIV/AIDS does not exist. And they're serious. This, vs. a couple of obviously fallacious posts in a thread that was definitely of the slow burning variety anyway, being that the target audience is of a slightly older generation that might take a little longer to get on here.

I don't know anyone personally who's met Freddie, but my safety lecturer is (or at least was for a very long time) one of the guys who drives touring musicians around town. In '98 he got to drive Brian to and from the gig at Metros (this is in Perth, by the by). Brian was apparently a little let down with the attendance. This anecdote has always pissed me off because at the time I was dying to go and see him, but 12 year olds weren't welcome at the gig.

In my lecturer's words, Brian was 'picking his brains' about why the people didn't come. Should've made it all ages, Brian. Lesson learned.

I haven't seen it and even if I did, I don't particularly find this forum to be the best place to discuss HIV or AIDs due to people finding the need to tell jokes about the subject. Calm down, Yosemite Sam. It's like this; that thread in the Personal section is public knowledge. If you're not aware of large sections of the forum like that, then it stands to reason that you aren't one to be relied on in making judgements about the readership. So quit it already. There isn't a problem here.

PS. I offered a Brian anecdote! He's not Freddie, but surely that's something. Cheer up already.

I come to a Queen message board to what-do-you-know read and discuss matters related to Queen. I don't bother going to the personal section of the forum, no. Mainly because I have other interests than the rest of the board's personal live's.

Oddly this means I can't have an opinion on the state of the threads in the Queen forums? Interesting.

I think it means you shouldn't expect your opinion to count more than anyone else's, and since the aggregate of the forum appears to be something you dislike, you're just going to have to learn to take the good with the bad. This seems not to be a strong point of yours; I suggest you dust off your ego and have another shot at the place.

And besides, you're the one who wants the topic to stay derailed. Did I not offer a vaguely on-point post? I'd like to hear anecdotes from people who've bumped into Queen members myself. *shrug* Might as well be this thread, since Freddie's dead and it'll take a while for that stuff to surface.

I never met Freddie but I was a close friend of the midget who served guests cocaine from a bowl strapped to his head at the infamous "Jazz" album launch party in New Orleans. I asked him what Freddie was really like on a number of occasions and he told me that he'd never been to New Orleans before and had no fucking idea what I was talking about.
