This is very underwhelming. After all the hints about what's going to be released, they go for Budapest -- yet another Magic Years concert and a re-release. When are we going to see the 1970s concerts?
I think very very soon, I hope after Budapest will be Rainbow or Hammersmith Odeon 1975

IF they would fix the speed (and I really mean the SPEED, not just the PITCH as they did with Montreal), and maybe even put out the whole show (IF they have the full negative) it could be a really great release ! As you know I'm the one who keeps on bitchin' about their releases, but in the case they would do this CORRECTLY (that means AT LEAST fix the speed) it would be REALLY great
Even if they do everything you say (which I doubt - based on Wembley, Montreal & Queen+PR, there will be overdubs) I would still prefer they do proper releases of 1970s concerts before releasing another version of a show that's already available, albeit only on video. And it's a Magic Years release -- yawn. Creatively, this was close to their weakest period.

I feel that none of you do not want to Budapest on blu ray. Everybody`s moaning

Only about your double negatives.

in terms of production, this is the best gig Queen have in their archive. it makes sense to release it while its technology is still up to date

some of the 70s stuff will look inferior compared to budapest.
of course; I hope they put it all out, but budapest is the best thing they have to offer in terms of visual quality

I think that Rainbow might be released after Budapest.

It's a re-release of the title, not a format-specific re-release. The Star Wars trilogy didn't suddenly become new movies with new releases when they first appeared on DVD, they were re-releases of the previously availabe titles.

...And I have to say, I would love it if they re-released this as a re-edit with the full concert footage, and a made a bonus section of all the original documentary footage.
Unfortunately the chances of that are pretty slim.

Are you sure? Maybe you should change it to "November - Rainbow '74"?

I personally think Rainbow will be out in November. I think their goal for the DVD box sets next year is to use up all the bits they got that aren't good enough for a Bluray release. Ranbow and Budapest are the 2 best choices for Bluray that they got in the archives. So they'll probably release those as stand alones.

I agree. This must be true. I hope it's being released on 19th or 20th November.

The recent official press release for the Adam Lambert shows stated that Hammersmith 75 was a forthcoming DVD release so I'd expect that before stuff like the Rainbow which hasn't even been rumoured in 'official' circles yet.

No. The Star Wars movies are a VERY bad example.
Because the 1997 VHS tapes are NEW versions of the movies, actually brand new movies. The 2004 DVDs are again NEW movies. The 2011 BluRays are again NEW movies. Lucas keeps BRUTALLY changing the movies for every release.
