But I must admit, that the SOUND of the QRM is much better than on WWRY

Montreal ... good ? Really ? I thought the only good release of Montreal is the Pioneer version from 2001

I do agree that some of the pq on QRM is odd. dunno if that's the source material or the infamous "chaps" not doing their job....?

This video shows their tehnique od remaster. [/QUOTE]
That's quite sad. So they f*d up the colours INTENTIONALLY :-(

The colour is so high on that budapest sample that each person has their own orange aura, not even Eagle Rock would do that.
The phill collin sample really sums things up, it's tinted blue for some reason and there's far less detail, film grain is a good thing.
16 mm doesn't need much work done to it, it's already above the resolution of Blueray, scratch removal and normalising the colours are the only things that should need doing.

@conejo29 I don't think that's truly HD, looks to me like it's been upscaled. Either that or it's been badly treated for noise. Also sounds like it's playing at the same incorrect speed as previous releases.

I think you are right, I can't see how anybody thinks the youtube video is from a official source, it even says upscailed in the description tags.
Nice bit of restoration from some guy on his home pc, but that's about it.

ok. i understand. The point is, if this video remastered in home looks very well, the true bluray release will be a huge thing to see.

I hope they correct the speed/sound , And hope they got the original film stock from the Hungarian government.

I have both copies on DVD and generally I prefer We Will Rock You. I have the NTSC version with DTS soundtrack (not sure if there were others) so I assume it plays at the correct speed and pitch given it is a film source.
I only bought Queen Rock Montreal and Live Aid for the Live Aid sections. I bought the PAL DVD of this sinc Live Aid was shot on PAL video so again hopefully the Live Aid sections are the correct speed and pitch. But it's hard to be 100% sure.

I wonder if they'll make a big deal in the release notes about it being a concert by a western rock band in the eastern bloc at the time? Obviously has no relevance today especially with younger fans.
Budapest today, nice as it may be, is just another 'stag/hen party euro city' for boozy Brits.
