Which, as I said before, will therefore most likely not actually feature Freddie performing at at all, so will essentially be like one of those 'Royal Philharmonic plays Queen' type albums!!

Well, there is a difference between an orchestral version of the album, and the album played by an orchestra.

One serves as a karoke backing track for fans (but tells nothing about Freddie's work because it was recorded after his death), and the other is for people who just don't want to hear Freddie's and Montserrat's voice.

I would think this album is the 100% exact backing track as it was before the vocals were inserted, and as such it should be of more interest to the fans of Stuart Morley than the fans of Freddie... For fans of Freddie there are the instrumental versions on the Solo Collection
besides, in the instrumental disc we´ll still have John´s bass in HCIGO :P
Not sure I care about the difference between the musical backing of the original and an orchestral backing.

Slightly warming to the project after the trailer video - but not convinced I'll be buying this time around.

I have just pre-ordered both the special edition AND the book :-)

I see no down side to this and I'm particularly excited about listening to the album with a full orchestra.

It's not like they are replacing Freddie's piano or Brian's guitar from ANATO.

I don't have my Barcelona CD with me. Who played synths in that one? How much of it was synths and how much was a real orchestra? Did Freddie play any instruments there?
This is a real reissue, sounds incredibly good.

I'd like their mimed show on DVD. Anything to see Monsterrat Cabasketball doing that little dance during Golden Boy. Fuckin' thought she was gonna roll right off the stage the first time I saw it! I had visions of the guys in the orchestra pit just running for their lives, Indiana Jones style.
It's an interesting and unexpected project. The artwork looks like it's from 90s-period Genesis, and not in a good way.

You're probably thinking of 80's Genesis. ;)

That could make a great animated spoof-video...
