Freddie's documentary "The Great Pretender" is leaked

here in brazil, to wait this dvd arrived here, will take a long...

I love the fact that people are upset because there may not be extras even though it is a new docu with rare and previously unseen footage.

Pretty much sums up most of the Queen 'fans' on this site.

20 yrs after Queen ends and people should be happy coz of some small, rare footage inserted in documentary? And that's all?

The most funny thing is "Let me live" with Rod Stewart - 2 lines. Why not full track?
After all these years people deserves much more than that.

here's my two cents on this...

I have to agree with this quote above. don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the documentary and I have watched it so many times by now but I was waiting too long for this and I just have the feeling that I expected more. The Royal Ballet is not in full version at all and it looks like it was taken from youtube (just like the home footage of Freddie celebrating Christmas at Mary Austin's place), there's a bit too much talk about Prenter who is totally unimportant in this whole story, and there's like 4 minutes of footage from the 1970s for which I think there should have been more (they promised some interviews from 1976 and there's like 4 second of it in there). also, there are absolutely no new interviews from Roger and Brian, everything is taken from bonus stuff from "Days Of Our Lives" documentary.  for some reason, I think they STILL haven't showed and said everything, as if they're saving it for maybe another Freddie documentary? who knows.

but then again, this leaked version is the uncut version and there's still 17 minutes of something good on the DVD, and all that extra stuff. my hopes are still high and of course I'm buying the DVD :)

because it was supposed to be a full record of the Royal Ballet!

People... this is so much more than the documentaries that we had in the last decades full of interviews with other people and seen images.

This is the first time i see the history of freddie spoken basically by himself.

The prenter part was good because it is important in the queen history, the stress inside the band and the turn into the music that made hot space possible.

Instead of being pissed off for a video wasn't even bought by the viewers here, we should see the good side: There's a lot of unseen footage and if all you guys want the whole uncut deal, i guess then you would be whining about the price... or the lack of new releases in a couple of years when there's nothing left to release.

I think the leaked version is the TV version, and probably was leaked from there, and thats why there's missing minutes. i doubt it's extras

And thats another thing about you lot. Queen fans do not DESERVE anything. You do not have a god given right to ANYTHING Queen have in the vaults. Its up to them what they release or don't. What a strange attitude a lot of Queen fans have.

Be grateful for what they release. I am dismayed at the lack of an official 70's concert release but I dont stew in anger about it or get all righteous about the product I think I deserve because I have invested a lot of time and money into Queen since I was a kid.

Bang on.

Instead of having a sense of entitlement, just start listening to other music and you'll never have a loss of things to listen to.

There are no rational reasons to complain about this release.

There are even unseen Crazy tour bits in there... Probably Jim Jenkins footage from Alexandra Palace 22/12/1979...
