And thats another thing about you lot. Queen fans do not DESERVE anything. You do not have a god given right to ANYTHING Queen have in the vaults. Its up to them what they release or don't. What a strange attitude a lot of Queen fans have.
Really? What would be Queen and every other band without fans? They are famous and rich because of fans.
It's not about fans rights but about respect for fans.
They don't have respect for old fans. But it's nothin new, we know that for years.
Be grateful for what they release. I am dismayed at the lack of an official 70's concert release but I dont stew in anger about it or get all righteous about the product I think I deserve because I have invested a lot of time and money into Queen since I was a kid.
I'm not anger and grateful of "pieces" they realeses. Why? Coz I'm not kid or even teen.
I don't spank monkey on few seconds of 30 years old demos.
It's simple - they don't respect me- I don't respect them = I won't buy anything from them.

...just start listening to other music and you'll never have a loss of things to listen to.
Yeah. Deep Purple "deluxe remasters", Thin Lizzy "deluxe remasters" and many more REAL DELUXE REMASTERS.

"The most funny thing is "Let me live" with Rod Stewart - 2 lines. Why not full track?"
It's a documentary, you pillocks - not a bloody 'let's find an excuse to play rare stuff to people'. It wouldn't make any sense to play a full track with nobody talking in a documentary format.

It's BLU RAY DISC, shithead. BLU RAYS editions has lot of bonus stuff. Not just 1,30 minutes doc.
When they say that'll realese some bonuses with that I expect more than 10 and 15 seconds of two tracks.

Queen Fans, even the mature ones, are just a bunch of spoiled brats. Some people just dont remember how hard was to get decent stuff released a couple of decades ago..
So? It's not "decades ago" now. It's 2012, XXIst century. Robots, cybernetic hands, HD television, ship on Mars etc.
We shoould sit and be gratful that QP drops some garbage from time to time?
COME ON! This band doesn't exist since 1991. It's 22 years and they can't realese their archives? It's pathetic.
And BTW - "Let me live" and "More to life..." are not NEW hard f***in hidden songs, covered from years in the cellar.
HELLO !!! These songs were realesed many years ago !
Why da f. they don't want to show full demos of thosebut some 15 seconds parts? P A T H E T I C.

BTW 2 - WHY THEY DON'T RELEASE "More to life than this"?!
It's the best time. 2 great, dead legends in good song. It can be a hit single...
Oh, I know. They prefer played shit concerts with :stars" like Lambert.

Personally, I liked the documentary. It's not something that's changed my life or that I may think is the highlight of the century, but of course, it's a good product. It's obviously not tailored for the uberdubersuperfans or trivia gurus, but the producer had the sense not to waste valuable time regurgitating the same old stories ... 99% of people buying the DVD have got at least some passing knowledge of Queen, so they've already heard the stories (some true, some false, some in between) about Bo Rhap being played by Kenny Everett, Crazy written in the bath, Under Pressure resulting from a jam session in Switzerland, Freddie changing his surname, Smile, Queen, Trident, blah, blah, blah... so I personally find it good that they compressed the 70's so quickly, as it was already known by most viewers.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

@YourValentine "when I was the one who did the collecting and you were not even around.."

Good for you. I guess i'm not the one who can't argue without look for some kind of virtual reassurance. My old signature was just info, and not any sort of validation.

@pittrek Im sure my english is crappier than you ;). I see your points, however i do find this release worthy enough.

@Zebonka12 My thoughts exactly. People can't enjoy what they get anymore.
Life is real. so real.

"Some anus invited to the Freddie screening last week as a fan, has uploaded their free gift onto the internet, spoiling it for all. Prat."

Ha. He needs to blow it out his ass, I'm afraid. Good job with the documentary, but there's no harm done. I'm still going to buy a copy.

Exactly. I downloaded it, watched it, deleted it, wrote my opinion, and even when I'm not very impressed by it, I WILL buy the BluRay when it gets released

Yeah. For my money, it's worth it to have some snippets of rare outtakes vs. none at all. I'm not kidding when I say that the short section of Days Of Our Lives filmclip rushes is worth the price of entry alone. To hell with the lame-ass MJ collaboration (which has always sounded anaemic to me anyway) - this stuff was emotional to see.

It's funny how everyone is arguing about the validity of a "leaked" release.... yet know nothing about the new standard of free marketing. But keep on arguing about it!! It's a borderline Info-mercial in here.

Absolutely loved it!! Especially loved the tone of the whole thing, which is pretty upbeat (especially compared to TUS). Where The Untold Story was leaning too much against the over-sentimental, which seemed awkward at times, The Great Pretender was much in the spirit of Freddie, in his own words and his career. Can't wait to have a Blu-Ray copy. :)
We love you Mandy!

well, they could have released a large trailer for the documentary (5-7 min. approx.) - perhaps in two parts for even greater effect marketing-wise .Previewing it for the fans cannot be solely limited to the few residing in the London or L.A. area. I watched the bloody thing, wasn't impressed by it - for me it lacked focus, it was all over the place (the snippet from the "Let me Live" jam was 2.2 seconds?). I just wonder how many of us who listened gratis to the new Bob Dylan album on i-tunes for days will buy the album: the vast majority I reckon...
