I'm quite shocked. To be honest, I thought that the reason why the DVDs are NTSC instead of PAL was that they have them prepared in USA and shipped from there to all over the world. Now I REALLY don't understand why they did convert it.

Damn! You guys shouldn't be getting my hopes up. I am sort of naive these days due to my daily tiredness and drowsiness caused by a thing called school.

Well tokyo 79 is one of the few things left which is of high quality , and beautifully filmed. Qpl doing a lot if effort now scanning and restoring this gem. Though FM his voice wasn't at is best most of the european shows were recorded, so plenty material to patch and make it shine again as it was FM his best show !

Come on, don't give them crazy ideas ! Please, leave Freddie's voice as it was, it's what makes this show very special and very "emotionally powerful" (if it makes any sense)

well fuck off these patches I think. I like Freddie`s voice when he isn`t good shape. Because a tours in Japan in 1979 was a grueling plus these Japs yelling as if they cuts without knife . Freddie had to strain his voice to both himself and to hear that others have heard his voice.

If they put out a Tokyo 79 DVD in the shops, it would run the risk of creating the idea that Queen sucked live in the 70s. Mercury was at his absolute worst in April 79. The heavy touring left him with a fraction of his voice.

I have mixed feelings about them patching in vocal bits from Paris 79 or whatever other shows. But if they released a 1979 boxed set with Tokyo, Paris and Hammersmith footage, it would be interesting as a comparison.

Long time ago Brooks wrote that from Tokyo 1979 they have bits footages. Do you think they`ve found more this? Of course I would love to see a concert in Tokyo 1979. But, we must face the truth. All decides Brian and Roger.

It seems that the full show was videotaped.
