We can think about anything we want to think about. The only problem is, we don't know when it will be released, and we don't know if it will be released at all. But nobody has stopped us having all those beautiful dreams in our heads.

It seems that the full show was videotaped.
They have 2 Tokyo 79 shows , they even have all the seperate camera angles !

The first night could be recored as a tester though. During the last convention they showed footage from both Tokyo shows, EC and Paris 79 ! The Tolyo looks excellent!

But for all you disbelievers let me ask you this Question :

Which show is decent enough to be released as a standalone DVD ?

Let's sum it up :

Hammy 75 : to short for a standalone only 50 minutes

Earls Court : good quality but 2 camera angles only

Hammy 79 : video quality , and quite poor. is it complete in the vaults. I am
Quite sure they have the multitracks

South america 81 - only one which could be good enough is the Buenos Aires.

Rio 85 - poor filming ... Could ve released , FM with the Xmas pudding on his belly

Houston 77 - hmmm video quality - and I don't think they have the full audio multi's... Not sure though. Could be possible release thiugh I doubt it.

Hyde Park 76 - No way , legandary gig though. But poor video recording.

Tokyo 85 - let's hope the complete recording is still out there. And not only the edit like the tokyo 82 survived! Still think they would prefer Rio if this one isn't complete if it comes to a workstour release. Though high quality filming on this one (tokyo)!

Paris 79 - poor video quality. This was shown by GB on the last convention the Tokyo looked 100 times better.

So if it is not tokyo 79 we will get , then what would be your gues for the next release ?

we want to know what a source of you knowledge.
My source is a good source.

So everyone who is wondering why the Hammy never took place the reason is that BM and other thought it was to short for a standalone release.... That is one reason why it never happened... To confirm this is the fact that they were very eager to find the "encore footage" recorded on video by fans.... still the encores are missing. So the DVD will run out at about 54 mins. Though very recently there was a amazing find in the archives from this concert....

Besides this fact they think quality has to be a high grade standard. At the time Queen were touring video (so not film) was the standard for recording concerts, this mainly because of the emerging VHS market... so why record it in higher quality than any consumer is able to see it on his tv ... Today Blue Ray is the highest standard, and even this standard will be exceeded in the future by something we cannot think about this moment....

So they are not fond of releaseing videorecorded shows as a dvd...

When you put this together ... for me the Japan 79 is the only possible release , a possible release for the masses (from die hard queenfan to queen liker...) , the audio is a different story though...

All what is not good enough will probably be released as boxsets...

This is my opinion....

Agreed, first let us see Rainbow... then we can start moaning about it's quality , then we can start moaning again aboutt he next release...

I think Rainbow will be released this year...

But let's NOT forget what we already got :

Milton Keynes , Montreal , both Wembley shows, and the Budapest...

People hardly talk about the fact how good the MK dvd release was/is... and the bonus features....

I'll bet when we got Rainbow in october 2004 instead of MK we were now al moaning and speculation about the fact we would like to see the MK show to be released...

Don;t forget as Queen fans we are quite spoiled... there is a lot recorded in the old days... Fans of Led Zep or The Who really have reasons to complain about the dvd releases...

No I am not saying it was shot on Film , but on video, and preserved in HQ !

Let me ask you a different question : please compare the video recordings of e.g. E.C. or Houston compared to the Tokyo... which one has far better shots...Which one was beautifully filmed (on video) ?

And the fact : QPL have the separate camera angels of Tokyo !

Sum it up yourself...
