Bit cheeky calling it the 'definitive edition' when the TV broadcast is the only full version available?!? I won't wait with baited breath to see how the 'remastered' sound is, when it should have been actually remixed from scratch.
I don't think it suits this release AT ALL. It doesn't even make sense why would they use such theme and style. How does it link you to the concert (e.g. "what it's all about")? Instead it looks like Soviet war poster or something.
Or it looks like a comic. But how does that make sense as well?

Chief, I think that's the same font used in the 10th anniversary edition DVD, but you're right - it's a bit daft. Apart from that, I think the use of the cartoon style Freddie is quite nice - as it's similar to that used in the FM tribute poster, it's bang on the theme.

If the artists do not want their performance released than it is not QPD fault. We will likely never see a full performance released officially due to legal rights of the respected artists.

I noticed you can now order a 'signed' poster print edition.
I also noticed it only has Roger and Brian's signatures.
I'm sure John was also there.
Having just watched the 1080 trailer, at least it looks like the video on the Blu-ray is going to match up to or exceed the quality of the laserdisc release.

I don't get why this had to be Blu-Ray. It would look about the same on a DVD. At least they didn't crop it to 16:9 :P

You don't have to buy it on blu ray - it's also on 3 DVD. Surely having everything on one disc is better though. Also, if done properly (and not just the lossy DVD files dumped on to blu ray) it WILL look better than the the DVD as footage is drastically compressed to fit on DVD. There is no such thing as "DVD quality", although most DVDs are much lower quality than the originally mastered digital files in the race to fit as much shit on a single DVD as possible. So called "standard definition" video is still higher definition than what a compressed DVD can offer.

I guess we will know the answer when when the disc is in the player.
Hands up who's buying both versions to compare. LOL

Is this the worst trailer ever? Also absolutely NO upgrade in video quality ... At least it's not cropped to 16:9. However I'm afraid it will AGAIN be NTSC :-(
