Looks impressive, they work with the image to make it looks like film instead videotape, i foresee Live at Wembley getting the same treatment

I've seen reviews for region free import releases on Blu-ray.com (specifically releases with the main feature encoded in 24p HD) that stated bonus feature materials encoded in PAL resolution (SD or HD) would not play on most to all North American BD players.
LOL! So most North American BD players are incapable of switching from 24p to 50Hz material?
My UK (Region B) BD player has no problem playing 24p discs with 60Hz bonus material, for example 'Back To The Future' & 'The Big Lebowski'.
As expected, it also plays 24p discs with 50Hz bonus material such as 'Flash Gordon' and 'Highlander'.

Unfortunately for us in North America, assbackwardness still reigns supreme with the content producers and hardware manufacturers :-(

All of the DVDs and Blurays done by the new record company are NTSC and they're not region encoded. Unfortunately they're all HDCP-protected (which should be illegal :-( )
Montreal and Budapest are 24p so are neither PAL or NTSC. Of course it might convert to 60hz if your tv or monitor does not support 24p.

My original post was only about DVDs. I later edited it to include Blurays and HDCP, so it of course doesn't make much sense now :-)

I amended that list as the 'Highlander' bonus material is in fact 60Hz when I re checked.
I wonder if part of the 50Hz problem in North America is in fact down to the TVs?
Out of curiosity, does your own TV support 50hz? If so is your BD player automatically converting 50hz to 60Hz?

I should have remembered, NTSC/PAL has no bearing on Blu-Ray
If your TV / monitor supports 24p, 50Hz and 60Hz then I would agree.
However, If it doesn't and there is a conversion going on somewhere, you might end up with some jerky vision on Blu Ray 50Hz PAL discs in the USA (if they play at all!) and 60Hz NTSC discs in the UK
Some people complained of this in the UK with the previous NTSC 1080i (60Hz) DOOL and FM Blu ray releases.
Quite possibly for them the FM tribute could also be a bit jerky as that is also a 60Hz SD disc.
Having said all that I think that probably all current HDTVs (in the UK at least) now support 24p, 50Hz and 60Hz

Actually, it still does, believe it or not. well I guess both of us will find out shortly!

They've already done that. Check Live At Wembley 25 anniversary edition DVD.

Virtually no stores in Cleveland and Indianapolis have the blu ray version. I will have to order from Amazon and play the wait game even further. Any other American cities get the blu ray this week?
