Got mine today. I've only checked the stereo mixes. The first halve of the show is a new mix of course and it sounds great. The Queen portion is the same mix as the previous release. The difference between the two is quite noticeable.

Very ouch they didn't update the 2nd half's mix yet they'd bother with the 1st half. Typical QPL sound mix laziness. They seriously need to hire people that actually CARE about these things!

Just to confirm it is 1080i and 60Hz.

and it looks like the US release is the 17th now.........keeps getting pushed back again and again

Hey! Could be worse...Canada always gets shafted even further, the Hollywood Records DVD releases were/are always 1-2 weeks further behind what the US gets.

I wish they wouldn't keep releasing PAL originated footage in only NTSC format. :(

Totally agree with you. I guess it saves on cots having to produce two different versions.

Is it original 4:3 OAR or have they butchered, twisted, stretched and distorted it to 16:9 like they have done in the past.

Also is it in 'true 5.1' or 'Justin Shirley Smith 4.1'?

Original 4:3
In my opinion the blu-ray looks a bit better than the LD (when played on my HDTV)
It certainly knocks the spots off the previous DVD release.

Here is a short sample from the Laserdisc for comparison.

NTSC LD > NTSC VOB:

I have not read all the posts in this thread, but I just received the BluRay.
I compared it with the 10th anniversary edition and I think the BluRay is slightly better.

But I noticed that I have no sound on the Documentary.
The awful menu has no titles but only numbers with minutes of duration mentioned, so it's a guess what you are picking to see.

But the, what is it - one hour? - documentary has no sound!

Anyone noticed this or is it just me?
