Anyway, it's MUCH MORE COMPLETE than the DVD and probably also than the VHS (I don't remember the tracklist on the VHS right now) << My guess is that this is going to be a digital replication of the double VHS/laserdisc releases, so again I'm doubting they're gonna add more than what the original releases had.

The Blu Ray info lists the audio as DTS HD Master in 7.1 surround. Does this intimate that they HAVE done a new mix of the audio, or is this just a trick they can pull using some software on the original (awful) stereo mix, like they do now to create their '5.1' mixes on Wembley etc.??

If this release occur, I'll buy it.
By the way, where is Innuendo??? They want me to take offence at this innuendo...

It just does sit right with me. The laser disk version released some years ago is just as good minus the DTS-HD track, and the not so great bonus material. Anybody with a laser disk copy and some decent hardware could release a version to rival this minus the DTS track of course. The up scaling to BD format is the same bullshit done by people on youtube, again the LD upscaled & cleaned up properly by someone could easily rival this release.
Cannot see this being a big seller, collaboration shows just do not sell that well. As mentioned by others in this thread I have this on video and have not watched it for years, I just have no interest in buying this one. At least they didn't crop the video and the DTS might be good if it is from a 24 track recording.
I hope this doesn't flop and shake confidence in reworking and releasing older material, a swing and a miss from QPL/Eagle Rock. I hope the plan is to release all the previously released material on the Eagle Rock label before we get to the good stuff. No offence intended to anyone involved in producing this.

I DEMAND the one and only live version of INNUENDO by most of the bandmembers !
Just give me a BR or DVD with just this song !
Shame they didn't played it live with QPR or Q+AL !
I want the only live recorded version of this song !
I absolutely understand why they don't want this shit to be released : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twlc9GzWL8c
Plant sucked almost as much as he did on Live Aid

I have a CD that has Robert Plant singing Innuendo on it. It also includes '39. Is that hard to find?
This DVD release looks interesting. I think it's time I purchase a Blu Ray player.......

Nope. Pal LD has the same track list as the BD.

Just noticed that the other Def Leppard tracks are missing, as are Spinal Tap; shame as I can't recall much wrong with either performance (after Tap's guitar signal issues were sorted).

Somebody to love on the days of our lives documentary has different angles compared to the version on the official Queen channel on youtube....maybe this bluray comes with a new audio mix and new angles?
inu-liger · Member since
I wouldn't hold my breath for alternate video angles.
And the DTS-HD 7.1 info afaik only came from ONE website, so for what it's worth it's best to wait for the press release and take this with a grain of salt for the time being.

I think that they consider "Only women bleed" the intro to "Knocking on heaven door".
Extreme´s "More than words" would be a plus to this release also. Nuno Bettencourt was huge that day on the guitar. Amazing stuff!

I think that all the intros you´ve mentioned will be included, along with God save the Queen.
Innuendo will be left out because Robert Plant asked the band back in the day to do so. He wasn´t happy with the performance.
I remember an inteview where the reporter asked Robert what happened on Innuendo. He said something along the lines that he went to Morocco with his then girlfriend, and was trying to memorize the lyrics of the song, and couldn´t. He said it was one of those situations where he simply couldn´t do it, and he was very nervous on the day due to that situation. The rest... well, it´s history!
Ten years ago i remember Brian stating that the reason they weren´t releasing the first half of the show was because of all the contracts they would need to get from all the artists and everyone involved, for the DVD release, since they already had the papers for the VHS release.
If indeed they went to all the trouble to get permission for the DVD/BluRay release, then one can assume that they didn´t got the permission from the artist or company to release the full set. If it was a QP decision to not release the full concert (once again) then i simply don´t get it!
Having said this, i´m really excited for this release. This is great stuff, and the first part deserves to be on DVD/BluRay. Metallica fans must be very happy too.
