Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but I see that the 'coming soon' page on RT's official site has changed....probably in anticipation of Monday's go-live date.

Question to the owners:
Is there an informtion in 'The Lot' book about the date/venue of Man On Fire (live) recording from The Cross Singles 2 CD ?
Pim Derks · Member since
There is barely any information at all. Was really hoping for detailed information like Greg provided in the FM box and in the Jeff Wayne War Of The Worlds boxset. But it's barely 2 pages of information about all the tracks on the four "Singles" discs :(

Oh God, I really don't understand what the hell they've done for this set at all with theirs opportunities... shitty notes and browsing of www.queenvault.com and www.discogs.com for copy/paste??? Two so-called 'Queen fans'...

Maybe it isn't entirely their fault?
I'm sure they weren't doing this for free, so it's really a case of "you get what you pay for".
I know from my work that some people think they can get the same work for £1000 or £10000, and get all surprised when the cheapest bidder turns out to be worthless shit.

Careful. You can't ever say anything like that around here. GB will be along to insult you in a minute....

I think no-one here will ever understand, how QUEEN FAN employed by QPL didn't bother to make a MAXIMUM effort of his job to help to produce PROPER product of his favourite band (even if it's a solo project).
What exactly hidden under the phrase: "We did the best possible job we could..." if 'The Lot' book even doesn't include details about the tracks.
What does GB do all working-day long if he didn't find the time or desire to prepare proper information about each recording for the project? FM Box 2000 enthusiasm has gone?
I'm sure there never was the situation like this:
GB: I spent a lot of time in the archives making a research of all the recordings for 'The Lot' from the archives. Look, here is the result with all the details and some interesting notes about the tracks...
RT (or someone responsible): Are you joking? No one needs it! Tracklist only is OK. And we don't need extra ten pages in the book. Go away, you fool.

To be fair, he is the QUEEN archivist. Obviously it isn't his full-time job and he might be asked to do other stuff for Queen-related projects.
If Roger Taylor asks him to compile a set of his solo recordings, it's a separate job with a separate budget.
The fact that there was no quality control whatsoever means that Roger just didn't want to spend enough money on the project.

I've been trying to find the US release date for FOE for a while.....amazon says Nov 19 AND Dec 10...but as an import.....IS this thing being released in the US, and when?
inu-liger · Member since
I wouldn't hold my breath, TKoR. The US hasn't had an official RT release since "Strange Frontier" (not counting The Cross material)

You might want to look at Amazon.ca. FOE is 15.75 + 9.98 shipping (approximately $26 in US dollars).
I am in located in the US and ordered The Lot for less than $150 US dollars (as opposed to over $200 on amazon.COM). I see that Amazon.ca has since raised the price of The Lot by $3 since I ordered it.

I quiet like this album. The structure of some songs are a bit strange but overall it is a nice piece of work, much more organic - and probably inspired - than Cosmos Rocks.
I have two remarks concerning the release of this album (which charted at no 69 in the UK for its first week) :
- My first is the apparent lack of promotion, press and media coverage, reviews, etc. I seem to remember there were much more when Electric Fire went out. I
Secundo, to my knowledge, no live execution of new songs by RT so far (again something he did during the promotion of Electric Fire). A shame ! I hope we'll hear some of this material live some day (although I guess we can forget about the small promotion tour, but I would love to be incorrect on this!), some of these songs could be pretty nice in live (Up! for instance)
a+

If you're still searching for The Lot, it might be wroth mentioning that since few minutes it's sold again on Amazon Italy (release date: 3 Dec) for a very good price! Amazon UK still doesn't have it, so you may consider buying it from here:
