What's the point? Brian and Roger have already chosen to tour in 28 locations in the U.S., Canada, South Korea and Japan this coming summer with Adam Lambert! You are kind of late to the party. If there is another tour in 2015 perhaps you can send your suggestions to Brian and Roger THEN!

Hypothetical question only and a reasonable one IMO.
I know that they're gonna tour in those locations. Obviously, as you've said, it's an hypothetical question! I'm sure we've all thought about who would be the best singer to replace Freddie Mercury.
In my opinion George Michael would have been a good choice, his refusal was a shame! And I also like Gary Cherone. Paul Rodgers is also a great singer, so I think that he did a great job!
Anyway, there's nobody like Freddie!

Wow how could I have forgotten Tom Chaplin ' s recent performance of IAHL a song "that had maybe never been played before" ;-)
Yeah Bellamy would be pretty good for all but the moodiest of songs
Sweet Caroline. ... I'm sure Adam will do a good job considering he's gotten better in "the role"
Still don't like his timbre much.
Sweet Caroline. ... As in Neil Diamond?
Great songwriter. ... horrible singer
Neil is my all-time favorite (along with Freddie of course) and I love his deep, gravelly voice. I couldn't believe how that little guy can hold a live audience spellbound for a whole concert with his amazing songs and charisma!

I thought it was AL as your favorite. I'm sure you posted that before.
Nice that your script never changes, no matter who you are discussing!

I believe the most amazing replacement of Freddie was Brian's completion of TSMGO. I had to listen to the song several times to hear the point at which Brian took over. Really precious to me. Dr. May has sang Queen songs so many times that I would also give him my overall 'best Freddie replacement'.

I think you mean the song 'Mother Love'. That was the one Brian completed, not TSMGO.

Matt Bellamy is awesome, but i doubt he will tour with Queen, Muse is very busy at the moment.
But a few tracks of him, Brian & Roger would be a heaven's gift. Listen to these songs and don't tell me they haven't a Queen vibe.

George Michael, period. He is the only who comes close to Freddie in terms of real artistry. His vocals are top notch although getting older seems he focuses more on the lower register of his voice. And yes, drugs/depression didnt help. However if he joined Queen back on 1992 i bet he would have treated his voice and to certain extent his public persona or private life differently.
Also he was/is the only contemporary male artist that Freddie said he respected vocaly. Its on "Queen for an hour" 1989 interview.
But lets not forget that on 1992 he was already an established artist, with his own history, "agenda" and ...demons as well, and also in the second prime of his career back then. Tottaly different story from Rogers or Lambert.
The only thing is he was never a rock singer. However his dynamics, charisma and diversity could have led Queen to a perhaps less rock but equally interesting music path.

ANSWER/QUESTION
Did he actually reffused? I mean was there ever a "proper" invitation from the band to be the lead singer?
We all know it's John Deacon. When he was rejected after the first business meeting, he just left for good.

George Michael lacks the humour for Queen, in my opinion. He's good, but he always comes over serious.
