Am I the only one who really doesn't like the tracks? Well, Let Me In Your Heart Again is OK, but only because of Freddie's vocals. They're not the best Queen tracks and I can see why they were never released before. Shame really.

oh well...Maybe by "reworking old stuff" May was referring to the fact that "Let Me In Your Heart Again" 's guitar solo is -basically- "Hammer To Fall"...[/QUOTE]

:-) Glad I'm not the only one thinking that!!

Let me in your heart again is a b side.....only save by Freddie.
Love Kills, horrible remix.
The song with Michael I like it, is the only I think is better than the others.

The cover is nice.
The rest.....the old same song over and over again.
Even the concept of ballads compilation is wrong. I mean, what ballad is I was born to love you or Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
If they say, love songs, well, I think more than the 70% of songs, by any band, are about love or sex ;)

I like the cover artwork... interesting to see a mix of eras used...Freddie from 81 (looks like a GH 1 shot?), Roger 76 ish, Brian about the same; not sure on John but maybe late 70s?

Sadly all three tracks are over-produced with far too much going on that detracts from the vocals.
I've loved "Let me In" since I first heard it on Anita's album and always felt that Freddie could have sung it.
Greg Brooks announced at Convention about 9 or 10 years ago that he'd found the Queen version of this song with Freddie singing and he said it was a finished track, but what we have been presented with here is NOT that track but a 'reworking'.
If only they'd kept it simple like Anita's version it would have been great. Instead, I was left utterly disappointed.

HOWEVER, I've lowered the volume of the music and brought Freddie's vocals out of the mix and now it's much better and I'm enjoying now.
Might try that with the others and see if it helps.

There must be more to life than this sounds diabolical.

"And we destroy what we create"

How apt.

Oh dear, oh deary dear indeed. I really did get excited about this and I'm really not impressed. I don't come on here and post anything negative but this just isn't very good. Saying that, Let me in is a delight to hear, although it is what I would consider an album track, a B side maybe. But I love it, it's something new from Freddie and his vocals are typically wonderful (although I could live without the American phrasing). However, Love Kills is an unnecessary re-working of a track I really like normally. Of all the re-mixes, re-workings this one is probably my least favourite. It just doesn't work. I would have much preferred to have heard the original Queen demo. I heard the Lambert version and really liked it, which made me look forward to this. I think it could have worked but I just don't like the production, it sounds naff. A huge disappointment.
TMBMTLTT could have worked well, but again it sounds awful in my opinion. I'm not moaning for the sake of moaning, i don't think the original is sacred and should never be touched, it just sounds shit. It's badly mixed, over produced, horrible. I wouldn't care if I never heard it again.
I was all for this album, I truly was, but apart from Let Me In it's not great and I really believe it could have been.
I've been getting fucked off with everyone bashing Brian and Roger on here but I think some of these people have a point. I'm here because I love the music these guys have produced over the years, I'm a very passionate fan and have been for decades.
I hate to say it but I feel a wee bit embarrassed by two of the tracks I've just heard.
Mr Deacon, I think you made the right decision and I respect you for it.

I agree, the new tracks are a let down. Unfortunately. Let Me in Your Heart is definitely the best and is the only track which sounds cohesive enough. Freddie's vocals are a joy. Love Kills - was it recorded as a ballad originally?? Freddie's vocals sound too fast to my ear! It doesn't sound natural, the way that Lambert's live version did. Not too mention the horrible sound effects and over-production. And finally, the duet. What a fucking mess, it sounds worse than demo version and only picks up in the last few instrumental seconds. Jackson's vocals sound like they were just thrown in there, terrible. Not sure what they did to other, old songs, but I fucking hope they didn't touch them!! The cover is good, but I am not sure if they were right to keep the love theme throughout. It was never going to be anything better than a distillation of "Deep Cuts" trilogy, but they should have thrown in a few dynamic, meaty tracks. Oh well, at least we got one new decent Freddie track and probably can rest assured that the vaults have indeed been cleared now.

TMBMTLTT is painful, neither Fred nor Wacko would have released it like this, the vocal is too low in the mix and ALL of the instrumentation sounds like filler or painting by numbers. Very average.
Arse.

Brian always talked about "some" unheard tracks they had found in the archives.
Well, "Queen Forever" only features one really unheard track. "Queen Forever" seems to be a compromise. Some "new" but not all of the "new"
I guess "Queen Forever" is a taster for getting Queen back in people´s minds again and next summer or fall we will get a whole "new" Album in style of "Made in Heaven".

William Orbit has screwed with Freddie's voice on TMBMTLTT too.

Love Kills is alright though. Better than the outdated 80's arrangements.

Not sure what to make of Let Me In Your Heart Again... it's okay I guess.

Dear Brian and Roger,

Why didnt you rework songs like Money Cant Buy Happiness and Love Makin Love?

Greetings,
Me

Edit: or the Queen version of Man Made Paradise? Hangman?
Or, you know, one of those other dozens of leaks you can find on youtube?
