Not much apart from the sextape in January, but it's blocked on most sites now though. :(

I was so very lucky to bump into him in October of this year!!

I didn't gush or try to appear startled.....not easy!!!
I asked him how he was doing and how much I appreciated is work. He seemed very genuine and we even had a smoke together whilst we chatted (read-not friends but talking small talk)

Sadly I didn't bombard him with 'why not's or wherefores'!
He is happy and healthy (sic smoking)

All in all I sensed a man who was content and with no regrets with his life-choices?

This was quite a massive moment in my life BUT.....I wanted to play down my euphoria. I think it may have worked?

I spent about 5 mins talking shit about my life and just plain 'waffle' but I did sense that he appreciated it? (Maybe I'm deluded???)
To me, he came across as just an ok guy. Sure he's aged but he did have this natural 'aire' to him. Christ almighty....I'm greying and older too!

I thanked him very much and he wished me well!!!!
Lifetime memory. You bet!!!!!

It was Richard! Totally unfounded and just one of those 'fuck!!!!' moments. It never entered my mind to crack out a camera or become obtrusive.

Just wish I had a friend who knew Wayne Sleep?? ;-)

Now that is pretty damn cool!!!!

I'd be afraid that if something like that ever happened to me I'd be like Chris Farley in that old Saturday Night Live bit......

Trust me.....inside I was a complete fuck-wit!!!

Out side I was.....a quivering Fuck-wit. I only took solace that I played it quite cool and nonchalant. ( I hoped)

I'm hoping that it was the better way to confront him.....or even any other celeb?

Wow, nice. I didn't expect anyone would actually be able to say yes to the question.

I'd say you handled it the right way - made a good impression and had meaningful interaction rather than just trying to get information out of him.

I couldn't tell you.........the closest I ever came to a brush with celebrity was when I worked at a restaurant and met the singer for the band that constantly plays every bar in the Detroit area....lol

I had a very similar moment a few years ago in New York with this one particular Japanese band that I went to see in concert (Puffy AmiYumi). I got to meet them what was basically two days in a row, first day being at a convention, and was fortuitously lucky to meet them again when they arrived for sound check thanks to arriving at Irving Plaza pretty early. Either I didn't think to ask to take a photo with them, or I may have been too shy to ask, can't quite remember now, but I thanked them for the autographs the day before and what not, they were very nice. Just like your experience, it was very quick small talk.

I also met one member from the local opening acts for that same show, Echostream without knowing who he was (or the band for that matter at the time), but in hindsight that was fairly cool too :) I think he might have been the guitarist? Either way we definitely talked more than I did with P.A.

Good times :)

For real?

Did you ask him if he received my multitudinous messages on Queenzone about his basses? (*give me one if you're not using em)
;-)

Ah. Gotta love John Deacon and his work. That would be great to meet him.

Very cool, I met him way back in about 97 when he was shopping in Kensington, we spoke very briefly, and like you I just basically thanked him for providing so many happy times for me over the years. He was very cool and very appreciative. The whole meeting lasted about 2 mins...
Had the same opportunity to speak with Roger about 3 years later, Now that WAS COOL.... what a rock star

How nice! Thanks for sharing this great story. And thank you for telling him you appreciate his work. I think you spoke on behalf of all of us Queenfans.

Cool! Roger is great indeed. Met him once after a show. Champagne and everything. What a guy. Living the dream.

You do know what unfounded means, right? I'd love it if this was just a big wind-up, and you slipped that word in to see if anyone would notice. But I don't think that was your intention!

Anyway, cool story man. Must have been a nice moment.
