Just wish I had a friend who knew Wayne Sleep?? ;-)
You do know what unfounded means, right? I'd love it if this was just a big wind-up, and you slipped that word in to see if anyone would notice. But I don't think that was your intention!

Anyway, cool story man. Must have been a nice moment.
Shit, I now see my error Bo - good spot!! I meant to write 'dumb-founded'. What a fuckwit........ I did get an A in O-level English.

I think I will now have to redo the exam and get a C-. :-)

^ I thought of posting that on here myself when I saw it, but then decided against it. I figured he probably doesn't want recent photos of himself going up on the net what with being so private (going by his face in that last pic, he doesn't look too happy about being photographed). In saying that, I saw it posted on a Queen page on Facebook, where hundreds had liked the pic already. So it probably won't make much odds now if it's on here anyway.

I had a very similar moment a few years ago in New York with this one particular Japanese band that I went to see in concert (Puffy AmiYumi)
The band that did the old Teen Titans (which btw was SOOOO much better than that crap they got going now!) cartoon show theme? Hehe.......cool...........

That's the one! :)

Btw they did that theme song at the show. Sounded much better live!

He looks so different these days. But then again since the late 80's he's been aging a hella lot faster than any of the other 3 did.

Sweet! I'm not really all that into comic-book type stuff, but somehow I got kinda hooked on that show.......then a little while ago I saw they had a new version, but turned it into not much more than a comedy show....damnit.......

Hmm......wondering what you think of Babymetal then, speaking about Japanese groups.....:D

John doesn't look that old in this picture, I mean, he doesn't look older than he should. I think he looks good, healthy, middle aged - yes, but, why not?

It's nice to see him actually. Without turning this into a Lambert hating thread, part of me wishes he had found it in himself to stay in Queen and keep the band underpinned with his legendary bass lines. I mean, I think Queen plus Adam Lambert sound very good, but there is a certain amount of class lacking in the mix without John. In fact if they were going to make another album, they'd really need John to add the real pop sensibility that was inherent in the old Queen sound.

Totally agree! That was one of the things I found lacking about The Cosmos Rocks - an actual bass player, let alone one as good as John! They could have at least had Danny Miranda or someone.....

In the Cosmos Rocks I felt they were over compensating with a dominant drum sound, and over-Queened guitars to compensate, like saying 'This is a Queen album, honest!'

It's not that it was a bad album, but it sort of sounded like a Roger/Brian solo album combined into one, with a guest singer. Funny that.....

Brian May's solo projects always sounded a bit more like Queen than Queen did, although Roger's didn't so much.

No two peopLe hear things the same way but TCR sounded like a mix that was missing at least a fourth element. I want to say a third element because the vocals were pretty uninspired. The lyrics were almost trash on the actual GOOD songs (musically SURFS UP SCHOOLS OUT is the best on the album, but with the current lyrics it's trash, second is TIME TO SHINE. .. those lyrics were written by Ralph Wiggum after listening to HOLY DIVER (*the SONG not the album)

goddawful

Where were we?

Oh yes. An actual bass player would have balanced the ELEMENTS MISSING IN THE MIX like anybody else. (Unless he'd merely been paid and told to stfu whenever a thoughtful concern occurred) the bass is lacking Moreso than on metallica's album AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

This time an entire VOICE is missing.

I dare you to listen to TIME TO SHINE and imagine a bass line in the chorus. Go listen to VOODOO and imagine what a rhythmically ACUTE bass player could have added to rhythm and attack.

The album was rushed as hell and deserving of its MOR rock space in a WAL-MART Midwestern shop.

Still. ... I regret seeing Q+ PR... Adam Lambert was more than underwhelming. His Rock bits are shameful. He doesn't deserve the space and his wearing a crown is like sacrilege.

Surprised they let him do that.

From a marketing perspective though. ... (dot dot dot)

Children to put through college!

Those last editions of compilations didn't sell so well either!

Lifestyle to maintain.

NEVER going to release that BOXED set. .. etc etc.

Etc.

Anyways, since I'm done rambling. I LOVE John Deacon. Jimminy jillickers. He's the best

And Justice For All is a different case.....they had a perfectly fine bass player, you just couldn't ever hear him! lol

Part of me is delighted to see John looking so healthy. The other part of me is disturbed by people ignoring his requests for anonymity and privacy. Myself included. :-(

But has he actually made a formal request like this?

He was in one of the world's biggest rock bands. This is bound to happen. I'm actually surprised so few photos have turned up.

Even Grace Slick gets more screen time than him these days.
